XII. A small misunderstanding

That little incident just now still got me smiling and the scientist I've walked past by seemed a bit confused, especially the ones who knew where I just came from. I asked some if they'd have known where William might be but everyone shook their head in response. I tried to remember what he told me where I could find him usually if I needed him. Well, I don't necessarily need him right now, I just feel like giving him some company and maybe help. The only thing coming to mind would be his little workplace that I decided to head to. I knocked, awaiting a response like a 'come in!' or 'one moment!', but nothing was heard. As the little rebel I am, I took a peek inside anyway to see if he's really there or not. I looked around but didn't see anyone, concluding that it was just a waste of time to search him. Just as I closed the door, I heard quick footsteps coming in my direction. Turning around immediately told me who it was.

"None other than William Birkin himself! I've been searching for you, where have you been?" I asked him with a gentle smile. He gave me a short wave and seemed pretty much in hurry. I took a step back so he could go into his little experimenting room and he also immediately went in without any other words. Just seconds later I heard the door lock, letting me sigh that the small hope I just had is gone again. I decided to return to my room to skip time differently than planned, so I can quickly get back to seeing Albert again.. ohh, not these thoughts again Y/N! Get yourself together! I hit myself slightly a few times to get my attention back to different things than him. As I got back, I decided to immediately take a seat by the little desk in my room for some unconscious scribbling

What I'll think of them when I'll get back to them later, I wonder.

--------------------------------------------------------------

I kept drawing and scribbling on paper till into the night without even noticing how much time had passed because of it. I almost forgot about the training Albert offered, if it wouldn't have knocked on my door and him coming in. To be honest, if he would have came just a bit later, I already would have been in bed for a good nap. But now that he's here to get me, the memories came back almost immediately. He took a few steps forward into my room to hand me clothes that would be better to wear during the training. Little did I know he couldn't help but notice what I doodled on paper for the past hours. He smiled but didn't say anything to it. I on the other side didn't understand what his little smile was about but I just let it fade and grabbed the clothes he handed me to change into them in the bathroom next door.

Everything went quick with some complications still here and there with putting the clothing on but it was already quicker than last time. As I came out of the bathroom again, we didn't hesitate one bit to get to the training room, or whatever you should call it.

We entered it and two water bottles were already standing in the furthest corner from us. Guess he already was preparing some things while I was practically awaiting him while at the same time I forgot about what we made up for. He gestured for me to follow him into the middle of the room and take a deep breath in as preparation. I decided to listen to him might be a good idea because he's my trainer after all but of course, it had to be a trick to down me with a strong kick in my side. Luckily I was able to stand my ground with some tumbling but quickly got to fully gather myself again. We circled each other and awaited to attack one another.

I seeked for a good chance to attack and was surprised when he gave me one. It probably was on purpose to have an eye out if I was even paying attention. He was about to pull up both his sleeves which seemed to annoy him, leading me to pretend that I would hit his right side but then quickly somehow switched to kick his left side. I was surprised about my quick movements just now but didn't want to show it too much before it would show me being distracted in any kind of way. Now Wesker was the one attacking with all kinds of movements that could hit best at the moment but I kept dodging his moves, even sometimes being able to hit him in the side or even the chest. I could tell he was going easy on me but I was actually pretty relieved about it. Who knows what other tricks this man might have up his sleeves?

We kept fighting for some good time and from time to time he even told me what to do to show me new things to learn or even some secret techniques I could use. For the end tho he didn't go for the usual stop signs to let me know that the lesson is over, not even in the slightest. Instead, when I tried to kick him in the side once again, thinking we would keep on going with the training, he grabbed my leg and pulled me close to him. One hand stayed on my leg, the other he placed on my hip. My face turned a gentle shade of pink because of his little attempt I don't quite understand. I felt a bit embarrassed about the situation but I must admit.. I did enjoy it secretly, especially his giggle making the situation even sweeter.

Keeping my cool and trying to back away was the first best thing that came to mind but Weskers didn't seem to be a big fan of the idea. We already were close to a wall, so he didn't let that opportunity slide to turn the two of us around and press me against it, leaving me zero chances of fleeing. Sweat dripped down both our foreheads because we kept fighting for so long, even leaving our breath heavy. It makes the situation look very suspicious but I didn't think much of it, to be honest. I just smiled friendly at him and raised my hands in defeat, leaving him a bit confused as if he didn't think I was still thinking we were fighting.

"Gee! For how long have you been training such things that you're this good when you're still being easy on me?" I asked him with my smile still on my lips. His response only was to let my leg go and lean his head against my shoulder with a sigh. I only stroked his head in return, not understanding his sudden exhaustion. He doesn't seem like someone to easily be, so it does leave me a little perplexed.

Did I understand something wrong?
