V. Maybe it's now safter than before

Slowly but steadily, I started to gain my consciousness back. It took a small while for me to adjust to my new surroundings because it was way too obvious that this isn't my room. The longer I think about where I could be, the more worried I got. Is this a mental hospital? It gives more lab-kind of vibes instead of a hospital. Everything in this room is white, yeah, but I doubt it has to say much. My clothing also got changed, and I feel weirdly fresh as if someone showered me while unconscious. To put that to the test, I just took a quick sniff of myself and I actually smelled like how I expected. It wouldn't make sense anyway to change the clothes of someone when they were dirty from other 'accidents'. Just as I wanted to stand up, a familiar face decided to come into the room I was currently in for a seemingly like greeting.

"Good morning, Y/N. Slept quite long, haven't you?" Albert said with a slight grin on his face. Just now, I noticed a woman standing behind him with her hair up in a bun and a beige dress. It almost looks like she's jealous of me or something. I know the two or at least one of them is expecting from me that I would talk with them, but they're damn wrong. Albert takes notice of that very quickly and doesn't even hesitate to mention my behaviour.
"Look, Y/N. Be mad if you want, but trust me when I say that won't hold for too long. Now, if you excuse me, I'd be on my way again to check up on some things. .. A friend will come soon to check up on you and show you around. Feel free to ask him everything that's up on your mind, but don't get stupid ideas like escaping. Got it?". I only nodded in response, immediately turning away from him tho so I don't have to look at that face anymore. I close my eyes, hoping to find a good reason why this guy kidnapped me, but still treats me nicely in somewhat way. Gosh, why do I feel like I know this man for longer, too? Does the woman- sorry.. zombie, that killed Lawrence, have anything to do with this guy? There might be a chance. It's not a full no yet. Maybe he knows more about that stuff so I can ask him later.

As I took a breath or two for some calming down, the door already opened again. A young-looking seeming gentleman came in with these typical scientist coats you see in almost every movie that includes them. He immediately noticed that I didn't seem to be in the greatest mood and that it could go down pretty quickly if he'd say something wrong. He tried to be careful with his approach on me. He sat down across from me on a chair that was pretty close to the bed I was on. Before he even came to words, he immediately started to take notes. They seem important because on how carefully he writes.

"Y/N was it, yeah? You can call me William. I'm a trusted one of Weskers. Did he tell you some of the rules already or did he leave all of that onto me?". He sounded calm. A bit too calm for my taste if I'm honest. Shaking my head was the only response he could get out of me but he also right away knows what I answered him.
"To keep everything short, rules are: don't disobey Wesker, don't touch anything you shouldn't touch especially without permission and in general.. just don't do nonsense. Wesker is merciless, keep that in mind before you consider doing something idiotic.". I only gave him a quick nod in response, showing him that I understood what he told me. He closed the files he wrote in not so long ago, holding them tight to himself while standing up again and reaching a hand out to me.
"Let's show you a bit around, shall we?"

...

"Aaand that's pretty much it! Better don't destroy anything before Wesker gets mad, just like I said earlier.". The little tour William gave me brought me to calm down a bit because I finally got to know this place a bit more, making it easier to orientate myself if I need something from someone. Everyone seemed surprisingly nice too.
"So uhm.. William. Why did Albert even bring me here? Was there any particular reason?"
It kept him quiet for a second before he steadied his position into a more straight one. He sighs and rubs the bridge of his nose, making me think as if I said something wrong.
"I think it's better when you ask him yourself." He said in a deep serious tone this time. I didn't decide to follow that theme for longer, which caused silence among us while our way back to my new room I will be staying in for a while as it seems. I waved him goodbye as soon as we got there and also closed the door right away to get some more rest. The lab tour wasn't small either and the stuff Albert injected me still didn't seem to have fully worn off.

I closed my eyes as I got to bed, taking deep and slow breaths. Now only music is missing in the background so it wouldn't be too silent as it is now. Maybe I can ask William to bring me a radio the next time when I see him or an mp3 player. But for now, I should get some rest.. and hey, at least I can be sure that no zombie will break into the lab without no protection against them, so they can be shot right away. The only thing I am worrying about at the moment would be Rachel. But she's a strong woman. She may get scared easily sometimes but nothing ever got her down too quickly. Not even a break up after a 5-year Relationship. I always was amazed by that small fact about hers, always wanting to know how she did that but she never told me.

Meanwhile, while I kept thinking about her, I finally fell asleep, practically cutting these thoughts off, preventing me to keep thinking about Rachel and everyone else.
