The café my little cozy work environment. The little coffee shop is something I admire. I don't work at a very busy place. It is a family owned business . The free flowing music always feels the room with a humble vibe. The customers are usually locals. This place is very popular to school students needing a place to meet up or study with. Everyone in town always comes at least once. The place is where I wish I could stay forever. The environment is rarely hostile. If there is a heaven, this café is it. The café is surrounded with mostly glass around two sides of the building. The other two sides are exposed brick. The brick is white with some red brick mix in. Around the windows has a dark brown trim making the windows stand out. If the time is right. The sunset is usually hitting one side of the glass. Watching the sunset is very relaxing and mesmerizing. The light yellow fade to orange, and sometimes will fade to purple is one of the best views to see.
Today was an easy day. The customers came in slowly, not really much of a rush. My coworker is a girl, Elia. She is a freshman college student at the local college in the town. She is friendly and helps me out a lot. She is someone who I would call a friend of mine. I wish we were the same age. If so, we would have been even closer. If there weren't many people she would work on her school work and so would I. Sometimes, we just talk. We have similar interests in shows, and hobbies.
There are only three main workers here: me, Elia, and Jaxon. Jaxon wasn't in today. Usually there are only two workers a day. The guy who owns the place is Jaxon's dad. Jaxon is friends with Elia and goes to the same college. Jaxon is laid back and has worked in the café for a very long time. Jaxon usually works the morning and afternoon shifts. He does more night classes. I usually only work with him on the weekends. He is someone who I don't have many similar interests with but books. He is majoring in English and he helps me out with the English work on occasions. He loves reading.
"Skye, how was school?" Elia asked me.
I placed a bookmark in the book I was reading.
"Boring as usual. Nothing usually changes. How about you?" I responded and asked Elia the same question.
"School is fun! I enjoy the feeling of how open the classes are. Even though the work is slightly harder, I feel more alive."
Elia states while walking over to the customer who just arrived at the register. I sat and thought for a moment. Questions start to flow through my mind. What is my purpose? Is it school? Is it work? Is it family?
