Lisa's only intention was to come to the balcony to drink some tequila and to clear her mind off from all the shitty events happening in her life. She was supposed to do this and then head back inside. But... she's in there... The woman with the brunette hair and cat liked eyes.... prolly 10 meters away from her.
She first noticed her when she walked in the party alone. She only caught Lisa's attention in the first place because she seemed so awkward and out of place. A tall beauty probably around 5'9 who's dressed in a plain white shirt and skinny jeans....in a place like this? Who is she and why does her not particularly impressive clothing still make her attractive?
The whole night, Lisa had tried her best to talk to her friends, tried to block out her thoughts over a game of beer pong and just tried anything to place her thoughts elsewhere. But that attempt only proved false as she finally finds herself out here, drinking again some tequila to boost her courage enough to approach the gorgeous woman and ask her out. She didn't even know now how much tequila she had, she was a bit tipsy but her mind is still on the track, it's not even because she wants to drink anymore. She's scared. Why is she so scared to go up to a stunningly gorgeous woman in a white shirt?
She curses herself just as she feels someone bump into her from behind. She turns to give them a few choice words but she is completely speechless when she sees who it is. It's her...the woman with a cat liked eyes. And she's coming to stand right next to her at the balcony.
Immediately her courageous attitude dissipates and she is left only with a rapid beating of her heart.
"Look at her" Lisa coaxes herself. "Just look at her" So she does sneak a peek up at her. She can't believe her eyes when she sees the way the night stars shine down on her. She's even more beautiful than before.
"You know it's quite rude to stare at people, it's making me uncomfortable."
Lisa stiffens. She did not expect her to say that. Also, how did she even see her when she hasn't even looked at her direction? "Oh....I- I'm sorry.." She put her glass on the table beside her. "Was....just wondering."
The woman now turns to her and puts one arm on the railing so that she's shifting her body weight on it. "Wondering about me? Why?"
She nervously scratches her hands. "Cause... I've never seen you before.... So i just thought... are yah new?"
"No, I'm Jennie" She jokes. "I don't go to places like this. I'm just here because my cousin dragged me out of my cave as she calls it.
"But you came in alone, and I never saw you with anybody else the whole night." Lisa says.
Jennie tilts her head sideways, "You were watching me?"
Now Lisa faces the balcony and looks over the edge. Sometimes she says things that makes the conversation worse. "No."
She can hear light laughing beside her, "That's funny,Lisa"
Lisa quickly looks her way. "How do you know
my name?""Your friends have friends who are my friends."
"
Who?" She questions.
Jennie shakes her head and looks out into the distance.
"Life's a mystery."Lisa cracks a smile, but the idea that derives from those words give her a sobering thought. "Did you come out here just to see me?"
"What makes you think that?"
"No one's allowed in the balcony unless you want to drink your thoughts away under the starry night. You came out here five minutes ago, and you still don't have a glass of wine in your hand."
Jennie's smile gradually grows on her face. "Mighty observant, aren't we?"
"Hmmm.." Lisa humms in a way that seems to be accusing but it still comes off in a playful manner.
Jennie stands up all the way and she faces the railing so that she can pat at it with her hands in
a rhythm. "Alright. You caught me red-handed. So let's cut to the chase." She runs a hand through her brunette locks and looks at her.
"Wanna go out sometime?" She asks, her voice is smooth, calm, and collective.Lisa tries to play it just as cool as her.... "What do you mean? Like a date?"... and fails miserably.
Jennie looks genuinely thrown. "What? Is there a different term you prefer to use?"
Lisa looked down at her feet. "Why do i ask stupid questions?" "No- I-I was only joking.." She lies.
Jennie relaxes a little. "So?" And it comes out in a suggestive tone.
"So.." Lisa repeats.
"Is that a yes or a no..on the date?"
Lisa thinks about the inner turmoil she caused herself moments ago when she contemplated figuring a way to ask Jennie out. She'd be a fool to pass this up. "Sure, I'll go out with you. But first I want you to tell me what I want to know."
"Okay, what do you want to know?"
Lisa faces her. "Who are my friends that is friends with yours? I'm curious to know why they've been talking to you about me. This whole night feels like they're setting me up with you."
Jennie chuckles and she can tell by Lisa's demeanour that she really isn't serious about this having any kind of baring on her answer. So she elects to continue not giving her what she asks for. "Life's still a mystery" She says.
