December 2016 Trevor

After Yuri left, I displayed Sailor Neptune beside the other sailor scouts. I still couldn't believe it. Yuri Plisetsky! My boyfriend! How could one ever hope to be so lucky? Maybe things are looking up. Maybe the worst is finally behind me. After all, at least I know for sure I'm not alone. Sure Yuri had always been by my side regardless, but there was always that fear he'd learn the truth and drop me. But now I know he accepts me. And he's like me. And perhaps he even likes me. I should do better. I should do better for him starting by... I thought to myself as I glanced around the room before my eyes landed on my backpack. I should actually do my homework starting now. Yuri may be my boyfriend now, but I can't keep relying on him in school. High school will be different. What if we don't end up in the same classes or in the same school. I know Mr. Celestino has been pushing Yuri to apply to that Prep school Victor goes to, but I doubt I'd pass the entrance exams as things are. If I want this life to continue with him, I must get into that school too. As I unzipped my bookbag and shifted through the papers, I found hundreds of ignored assignments. Come on, I know it's in here somewhere. Then I saw it.
The printout my math teacher gave me. This week on sailor scout Trevor, sailor Trevor must defeat the evil Pythagorean theorem sorceress to infiltrate the enemy's fortress and rescue his true love. Is he up to the task? When we last saw our hero, he was trying to determine the value of angle A if the other two given angles were 100 and 30 degrees. What was the formula again? I think I remember the teacher saying something about all angles in a triangle adding up to a specific number. What was it? Was it 180? No, that's a straight line. Maybe I should ask Yuri? No, I will not rely on Yuri! Oh! Idea! I'll look it up! The internet always knows. Oh, look, the new Beastars episode is out! I have to watch that! Episode 2 ended on a cliffhanger! Before I knew it, it was 11pm, and I still hadn't begun the homework... a good thing it's only Saturday, I thought to myself. Tomorrow I may have to call for reinforcements. Soon my eyes grew heavy as I drifted away from this plane.
"So you've decided to take control of your future... I'm proud." a voice called out. I had expected to see the faceless ballerina again, but this time, I saw no one.
"Who... Who are you?"
"That is unimportant. Tell me, Trevor, do you have a dream?"
"What are you talking about? I don't understand."
"Will you live your life doing what's expected of you, or will you soar?"
"I don't even live up to people's expectations as is. How could I ever soar? What are you trying to tell me?"
"Don't get left behind again, Trevor."
"What do you mean again?"
"What do you want?"
"I don't know!" I exclaimed before I awoke at my desk. Oww.. my back hurts from falling asleep hunched over like that. I checked the time, 9am, it's so early. Who is at 9am in the morning anyways? I opened Instagram to see if anyone showed signs of life and immediately noticed that the new kid I met yesterday was awake. Could he be Sailor Trevor's savior from the evil Pythagorean Theorem Sorceress? Only one way to find out
"Hello! It's me, that kid from the bookstore. Do you happen to know anything about Pythagorean Theorem?!"
"Yes, I remember you. Do you need help?"
"Yes, please!"

Like that, I was sitting in a coffee shop across from the mysterious stranger from yesterday. I bet this kid gets all the ladies. I know my female online friends love characters like him.
"ok, so did you bring the worksheet." he asked,
"omg, no, I forgot!" I exclaimed
"Wait, seriously!?" he replied in amazement
"no!" I laughed as I pulled it out of my bag, "but I got you good, didn't i."
"yea... I don't know what we'd do if you forgot it. Anyway, what's this first one? What's the angle's value if the other two given angles were 100 and 30 degrees? Ah, that's easy, you see, all angles add up to 180 degrees-"

I was right, I thought to myself.
"So if you add 100 and 30 together, you get 130, so I assume you know basic math. What's 180 minus 130?"
"500!" I exclaimed jokingly,
"what- no, it's-"
"50. I was messing with you."
"Oh, I see." He sighed, "ok, well then, I want you to try the second problem."
"Umm ok," I said

Before I knew it, with Otabek's help, I had finished all my homework. He's actually super bright, just like Yuri. is everyone a genius but me? Why am I the only idiot?
"Alright, we are done. You did very well. I'm proud of you. So same time next week?"
"Sure!"
