Noelle gazes out of the chemistry lab, filled with boredom as her teacher degrades her class. She suddenly notices a familiar figure walk past; a trail of smoke follows along. There was no doubt about who it could be. She slyly stands up and walks out of the classroom.

"Cayden Grey." Noelle's voice echoes in the halls, as her stern gaze meets his.
"Noelle Rosewood." He replies, rolling his eyes before nonchalantly throwing his cigarette out of the window.
"Why do you keep getting yourself into trouble?" Noelle sulks.
"Do you like detention that much?" She rolls her eyes sarcastically.
"Course. Mrs Newbury always looks hotter when she's yelling at me." He smirks playfully.
"Perv." She shoots back at his comment, and she makes her way back into chemistry.

She sits in between her two best friends. Vivienne and Kaiya. "Cayden again, huh." Kaiya laughs to herself. "Don't even mention it," Noelle replies, her shoulders drooping.

Kaiya Alore, Vivienne Celeste, Noelle Rosewood. The most popular trio of the school. Pretty, smart, rich; just your average group of popular girls. Or, so they thought.
However, Vivienne had always been the so-called "main it girl", everyone praised her for everything she did.

The long hour of chemistry had ended, and everyone had been talking about Vivienne's party.
"V, I'm so excited about that party tonight!" Kaiya squeals, as the excitement grows between the three. Suddenly, a swarm of Vivienne praisers crowd around the trio.

"Vivienne, you didn't send me an invite."
"Vivienne, I can't wait for your party!"
"Omg, Vivi I bet your dress is gorgeous!"
They all shower her with compliments.

Kaiya and Noelle exchange uneasy looks. "We'll leave you and your fans, V." Noelle whispers in Vivienne's ear, as the two walk away from the scene. The voices got quieter, as they stroll past the principals office.

"How many times does Noelle have to remind you, Mr Gray?" The principal bangs her hand on the table, and a look of frustration smothers her face. Noelle's eyes shift to Cayden, listening to the one and only Mrs Newsbury rant about how much of a bad student he was.

"God, Cayden's scary." Kaiya fake shivers, receiving a laugh from Noelle.
"Scary? All the boy does is smoke cigarettes and get into fights." She rolls her eyes.

The principal, Mrs Newbury, meets eyes with Noelle through the glass window.
"I think that's your queue to go in, Elle." Kaiya nudges her, walking past as she yells "Text me!" on her way out of the building.

A loud huff escapes Noelle's lips, as she prepares to hear what she has been for the past few years. "Noelle, come in here!" Mrs Newsbury yells, and she doesn't hesitate and walks into her office.

"Take a seat." She sighs, and Noelle does so.
"What is it, that Noelle is doing wrong, Cayden?" She questions him.
"I'm not scared of her." Cayden gazes out the window, unbothered by the scene that the principal has just caused.
"If you don't fix this behaviour, Cayden, you'll get expelled. Remember, your father has a reputation to uphold." She nags at him.

The one thing that Cayden feared; getting expelled. His father, Myles Gray, was a successful business owner of jewellery. If he can't hold a good reputation, he would crush his father's dreams of being a well-known family.

But Cayden? Oh, please. Cayden's infamous.

For a millisecond, Noelle felt sorrow for Cayden; but come on, who was she kidding? There was no way Noelle could feel any bit of sadness for him.

"You are both dismissed." Newsbury finishes, as an awkward silence lingers between the two. "Cayden," Noelle begins before he interrupts her. "Don't talk to me, Rosewood." His jaw was clenched. Why was he so tense today? Noelle removes the thought from her head and makes her way home.

"I'm back." She yawns, yanking at the door handle and shutting it closed. "How was school, darling?" Her mother asks. All her mother ever cared about was keeping a reputation, too; however, she wasn't worried about Noelle.
"Fine." Noelle yawns. "Don't forget Vivienne's party tonight, doll." Her mother yells, as Noelle slings her bag over her shoulder and runs upstairs.

Flopping onto her bed, Elles phone starts to ping with messages. Kaiya spammed her texts.

"God, Noelle, I need to tell you something."
"Don't make a scene at the party, though."
"Answer me, Noelle Rosewood!"

"Come over, Kaiya." Was all she could text back, and soon enough heard a knock on her door. Kaiya bursts through and throws herself next to Noelle.

"V is such a snake!" She exclaims, causing Noelle to shudder.
Vivienne could do some pretty ruthless stuff to others.
"She's been throwing rumours around that you've been hooking up with Cayden." She rolls her eyes. "You need to expose that bitch tonight." she huffed
"She said what?!" Noelle shrieks in disbelief, as her eyes widen.
Why would one of my best friends spread rumours about me? She felt her face heat up and her blood boil.
"I will, Kaiya. Why the fuck would she say that about me?"
Kaiya shrugs in response. "Everyone knows that you hate each other!" She furrows her eyebrows, Noelle nodding in agreement.
"We don't have no time to waste, Kaiya. Let's get ready for the bitches party!" Noelle makes her way into her closet, shutting the double door behind her.

The perfect dress hung on the edge of her vanity.
A tight-fitted pink dress which slightly revealed her cleavage, paired with glamorous white heels.
Noelle slipped on her outfit, admiring herself in the mirror as she opens her closet doors, Kaiya staring in astonishment. "Woah, Elle! That dress was made for you!" Kaiya laughs, admiring her best friend's outfit.
"Okay okay, your turn. You can borrow something from me." Noelle smiles, pushing her friend into her closet.

A white satin dress catches Kaiya's eye, and without a second thought, she throws it on, slipping on black strapped heels.
She kicks the door open playfully. "Damn, Kaiya! I hope we find some cute guys at the party tonight." The pair stumble out of the bedroom, giggling like children as they clumsily make their way downstairs. Noelle's mother was waiting in the foyer.

"You girls look stunning! Get in the car, please." She sang as she snatched her bag off of the marble countertops.

"Bye, mom." Noelle waves back as her mother's car speed off, causing Kaiya to laugh. The two were greeted by Vivienne, as she hops over to them. "Hey, girls!" She squeals in excitement, grabbing the two by the hand, and dragging them inside as the once muffled music, blasted raucously in their eardrums.

The first person that Noelle noticed; was Cayden. He leant against the backyard door, smoking yet again another cigarette. His face symbolised boredom and frustration. Zach had probably dragged him along.
"I don't even know why Zach brings him anyway. Speaking of Zach, I'm gonna shoot my shot with him." Vivienne winks, running off.
The two share awkward glances. "Elle, you should go cheer up Cayden." Kaiya teases. "Woah. Me? Cheer him up?" Noelle argues.

Kaiya stares at Noelle, persuading her to go over to him. "Oh my god, fine." Noelle droops her shoulders, as she drags her feet along the floor. What a way to start the night. Cayden notices her in his peripheral, as she approaches him. "Here to tell me off for smoking?" He says, half-teasing half-serious. "God, Cayden. Why are you so miserable?" Noelle stands in front of him, her eyes fixed on his...
