Pops took me and Keisha to the baby store the next day. To buy diapers early. And all that stuff.
"Ok Ty." Pops said smiling
"What" I asked
"Get what you gonna get" he said
"Let's wait" I insisted
"When yiy buy earlier. You can be stocked up with it" he said
"How you know"
"First child always your learning tool"
"Yeah I miss Deshawn" I said looking down
"Boy!" Pops screamed. I looked up. "Pick yo head up. No reason to be sad. He's with God now. In a happier place." He finished.
Pops was on and off with his beliefs, unlike momma. Pops would go get drunk one minute then pray another and talk about the bible.
Keisha stated waking around the store looking. She yelled my band from one of the aisles.
"How do this look"
"Baby, we're not here for clothes. Just diapers."
"But we're having a boy"
"We don't know yet" I said
"Be confident in your woman. Mother knows best" pops said.
"Ok we can get it. Boy stuff. I having a son."
"Yeah. Let's get him some PJs and some shoes. No Jordan's and all that." Keisha said
"Right!" I said upset.
"How about this" pops suggested
"Nah, pops. Thats not a good color."
"Dookie green is perfect. Dark, and a strong color. Green means leadership and strength"
Me and Keisha laughed.
"You watch. Your baby is gonna be a leader." Pops said.
Pops walked out the store. 15 mins later, we walked out with 5 bags full of diapers, clothes, toys, and a car seat. Pops popped the truck and we put the car seat on there until we got home.he
"Car seat but no stroller?" Pops asked in confusion
"We didn't have much money" I said
"Why not"
"We just didn't" I said
"Oh Ok fine." Pops said and he drove off.
