Scaramouche looks down at the crying baby in the dead woman's arms.
'Pathetic.'
He picks up the crying baby anyways and continues on his way as if he didn't just kill that whole village.
He honestly didn't know what to do with that thing so like anyone would he read books on child care. Sure he's cared for a child before, but that was ages ago, plus this baby thing, as he called it, was well a baby.
"Instead of calling them baby thing, actually name them."
He rolls his eyes at Signora's remark.
"Why is it a pet?"
She pinches the bridge of her nose.
"No dumbass you name babies."
"If you don't want them I can use them for testing."
"Fuck off."
He leaves the room baby in hand.
"They are right I guess I'll name you..(y/n)."

Scaramouche was determined to train the three year old on how to use a catalyst.
"Nonono you're doing it wrong."
"But how do I do it then daddy?"
He freezes, him a father? No absolutely not happening.
"Don't call me daddy I'm not your father."
They look at him with sad eyes, their bottom lip started to trimble.
"No don't cry...uh how about if you hit one of the targets I'll let you have two cookies for dessert tonight."
They instantly light up.
"Yay!"
'Children are so easy to please.'
It was a bit too obvious that the feared balladeer had a soft spot for the toddler.
Anything concerning the child he was the frist to see what it was about or get it resolved quickly. Soon he started to use the toddler as a threat as well.
"If you numbskulls don't fucking work faster I'm going to use you guys as targets for (Y/N)'s fighting practice!"
It would be funny if he wasn't so scary, plus he actually did it a couple of times, let's say that (Y/N) gets way better when the targets are his underlings.
Once they mastered the catalyst he decided the next weapon they should master is the claymore.
They were a bit too happy about it.

When they turned ten they were gifted a vison after fighting a lawachurl when they snuck out. Saracmouche was proud of them, but wasn't all too happy about them sneaking out.
"Now why would you sneek out?"
"I was boreeed there's no other kids hereeee."
'This kid..'
"I know that, but you are a child of the Fatui. You're not a normal child, and never will be."
They get angry.
"I didn't ask to be a child of the fatui!"
"Then I should've left you to die in your mother's cold dead hands."
Scaramouche didn't think much of what he said til he was in his room looking through papers. The papers in question were random drawings they made.
