You're new to Plainview, you don't know anybody, and all your friends are back at your old school. You're an openly trans male and you're not so sure how Massachusetts is with the LGBTQ+ community.  it's just you and your mom, she and your father split up your father taking your little brother and leaving you with your mom. But you don't mind because you love your mom, she's more accepting of you than your dad was. You had just finished moving all the boxes into the house from the car you go to your mostly empty room and flop down on your mattress. You lay there on your phone scrolling on tik tok.

About an hour into you scrolling on tik tok you were interrupted by the sound of a shitty wanna be my chemical romance music coming from the neighbor's next door. You get up and walk over to the sours of the noise. you see the garage door of your neighbor's house wide open with some shitty emo band inside.

"Quiet down!" you yell into the garage.  The boy behind the drums is the first one to notice you. He has messy brown hair with chocolate eyes. He looks like one of the tik tok e-boys. The boy stands up and looks at you.

"Who the hell are you?" he says staring you down.

"Your new neighbor," you say in a kind of bitchy tone because you were pissed that your peaceful time to yourself was interrupted.

"Oh, so you must be the new girl." he says looking back at the two other boys in the garage.

"I'm not a girl, I'm a boy," you reply kind of pissed that he assumed.

"Sorry I just assumed because of your voice and well..." he points at your chest (you're wearing an mcr tank top). You quickly cover your chest with your arms.

"It's called being trans, asshole."

"Sorry" he replied. "Well, I'm Rodrick welcome to the neighborhood, now get the hell out of my driveway." he says turning around to walk away.

"Close the door please you're playing really loudly," you say shyly now that you're slightly uncomfortable. He turns around to face you.

"Oh, so now you're being nice," he says in a cocky tone.

"Yeah, well when a cis man points out my biggest insecurity I tend to try and be nice, so they don't do it again," you say looking at him. He looks at you FLABBER GASTED.

"Sorry I didn't think about that," he says looking down at his feet.

"Yeah, well I'll see you later, want to Gerard Way." Rodrick looks at you surprised. You walk away with a cocky grin on your face. You hate to admit it, but that Rodrick guy was pretty cute, if he weren't such an asshole.

                                                                                 TIME SKIP A FEW HOURS

You hear a knock on the front door you walk down the stairs to answer the door when you answer you see a woman with a bright smile on her face.

"Hi! I'm your neighbor Susan Heffley. I wanted to invite you guys over for dinner tonight!" you were about to kindly decline the offer when your mom buts in.

"We would love to join you for dinner." your mother says.

"Great, I will see you soon then," Susan says walking away. your mom tells you to go get ready for dinner with the Heffley family. You really don't like the idea of going over to a stranger's house, but non the less your mother wants to go so you do as you're told and go get ready for dinner. You put on your binder under your ghostemane t-shirt and your favorite pair of ripped jeans along with your Avril Lavigne hoodie. You guys start walking towards the house where the shitty garage band was playing. Your mom knocks on the door, and Susan answers the door with a warm welcoming smile on her face. You force a smile as she invites you in, showing you were to sit. Your mom sits across from you, a scrawny little boy sits next to your mom the seat next to you is still empty. You hear somebody running down the stairs, and you see him, the want to be Gerard Way (aka Rodrick). As soon as you see him you turn and look at your plate. He sits in the chair right next to you, and your heart is beating out of your chest, you have no idea whats going on or why your so flustered.

"Hey," you say quietly towards Rodrick. "I'm sorry for earlier," you say avoiding eye contact with him.

"It's all cool it's my fault for assuming I should start asking people what their pronouns are," he says awkwardly. Susan walks over.

"Oh yeah honey what are your pronouns," she asks.

"He/Him" you shyly reply. Rodrick looks at you.

"What's your name anyways?" He asks.

"Y/(C)N" (your chosen name)
