Tris' POV

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"What do you mean you haven't told him yet?!" Christina looks at me in horror.
"I don't know, every time I try and do it something comes up and-".
Christina sighs. "You just need to tell him. It's better to just to do it, I mean, you don't want to wait until you're waddling around like a penguin right?"
"Christina!" I playfully punch her in the arm, but I know she has a point. "You're right. I'll tell him by the end of the week, promise."
Tris' POV (yep you're still stuck with her)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I hear the door to the apartment open and I watch Tobias come through the front door from where I'm perched on the couch.

"Hey," I smile and walk over to him.

"Hi Tris." He sounds tired. I don't want to exhaust him, but I can't wait any longer. Correction, I shouldn't wait any longer.

I open my mouth to speak, when Zeke bursts through the front door of our apartment and marches into the living room.

"Zeke," Tobias says, his voice dangerously low. "What...the HECK...are you doing?"

Uriah comes in too when he finishes his sentence, dressed like a...duck.

"Uriah," I laugh. "What are you wearing?"

"A chicken costume," he replies proudly.

"But that's a-".

"Enough!" He interrupts. "Bird fight, down at the pit. All participants must dress up as a type of bird and fight."

By now I'm doubled over with laughter, clutching the kitchen counter to keep myself steady. Tobias has his eyebrow raised and a weary look on his face, but I know he's thoroughly enjoying this too. I look over at him.

"I suppose it wouldn't hurt to watch something this ridiculously entertaining?" I suggest.

He nods and grins. "Why not?".

~{An hour and one bruised Uriah later}~

We walk back to the apartment laughing, a sulky Uriah shuffling on behind us. I turn around and grin at him.

"C'mon, you had it coming".

He glares at me then smiles a bit. "I just can't believe I lost to a PENGUIN," he moans. "I mean, they can't even FLY."

Everyone laughs as we reach mine and Tobias' apartment. We wave goodbye before going inside and collapsing on the couch, giggling. By now it's late, so Tobias and I clumsily haul ourselves up from the couch and get into bed. We muse to ourselves for a bit before I see his eyes close. I smile and roll over, facing away from him, before closing my own eyes. I think over the day's events and feel a pang of guilt stab my stomach when I realised I hadn't told him about the baby yet. Wouldn't it be better to do it now, when his eyes are closed but he's not asleep yet and I'm not put on the spot? I sigh.

"By the way," I mumble. "I thought it might be worth mentioning that I'm pregnant."

He doesn't answer straight away and I wonder if he fell asleep after all when I hear a strangled "What?!" and a bang as he hits his head on the headboard as his body shoots up from the bed. I cover my hand over my mouth, a weak attempt at stifling my laughter, and roll over to see him leaning over me, his deep blue eyes fixed on my features.

"What did you say...?" He asks slowly. He seems unsure.

"I said I'm pregnant..." I say, my voice wavering.

For a moment all we do is stare at each other. I can almost hear the cogs turning in his head as he tries to process what just happened, but before I know it he slams his lips down on mine and rolls us over so we're lying down again.

"Tris," He breathes when he finally pulls away. "I love you. So much."

"Wait," I pause. "So...you're not...mad?"

He laughs and caresses my face in his hands. "How could I ever be mad?" He says softly.

"I don't know...I just thought you would be scared or something."

"Maybe I am, but right now all I care about is you, and the baby." He kisses me again.

"It'll be okay," I tell him. "You'll be fine."

He nods, resting his forehead against mine, and laughs. He pulls back and stares into my eyes. I smile as I savour this moment, and hope that it never ends.
