(Jay POV)

I woke up to Amber shaking me awake. I sat up in bed whilst rubbing my eyes. I looked up at her to see she was all dressed up.

I was so busy admiring her casual but elegant attire that I wasn't paying attention to what she was saying

I was so busy admiring her casual but elegant attire that I wasn't paying attention to what she was saying.

"Jay Wilson! I'm talking to you!" She said, her frustration mixed with a hint of amusement.

"Yes Mrs. Wilson, You were saying?" I said as Amber hit me on my arm playfully, flustered by what I said.

"Hey! Listen to me. This morning, my mom called and invited us to dinner at 7:00pm. Currently, it's 6:30pm. So get up, shower and get dressed so we can leave."

"Alright ma'am, but where are my clothes?" I said as I got up and walked towards her tall but small figure compared to mine.

"They're hung in the bathroom. Now go."
She said pointing to the bathroom door.

"Alright but...would you mind accompanying me?"

"Jay!!! Just go!" She said, blushing like crazy.

I laughed at her reaction and put my hands on her waist, pulling her close to me. I leaned in and whispered in her ear with a husky tone,

"But soon enough, you'll be coming everywhere with me." I said and chuckled darkly. I left her blushing and entered the bathroom.

(Amber POV)

I honestly just wanted to stay home with Jay. I didn't really feel like going. Especially with all the family drama going on.

I was sitting in Jay's car in the passenger seat. I saw Jay make his way to the driver's seat.

He sat down and noticed my sad demeanor.

"Amber? Is everything okay? You look a bit down."

I sighed and said, "Well, I don't really feel like going to my family's dinner after what happened."

"Hey, if you don't feel like going, I can always call them and tell them something came up." He said, softly holding my hand which was in my lap.

"No, they invited us. We have to go."

"You sure?"

"Yeah I'm sure, let's go."

"If you say so, my love."

(Third Person POV)

The couple had just arrived at Amber's parents' house. Jay knew that Amber wasn't feeling the best. He got out and came to her side and opened her door. As she got out, Jay grabbed her hand, entwining their fingers as he rubbed her knuckles, giving her comfort.

"Everything will be fine, I'm with you okay?"

"I hope so..." She said, nervously.

They made their way to the front door and rang the bell. Her sisters were the ones who opened the door.

They all greeted each other, the atmosphere was cheerful and happy.

They went to the dining area where everyone was seated. The dinner surprisingly went well. But after dinner, that's where things got bad.

After dinner, Amber, Jay, and her sisters Aiko, Aliya, and Ashley retreated to the cozy confines of the living room, where the atmosphere was fun and light. Laughter filled the air as they reminisced about old memories and shared inside jokes.

As they basked in the warmth of each other's company, the distant sound of raised voices from their parents' room pierced through the atmosphere like a sharp knife.

Amber exchanged a worried glance with Jay, her heart sinking at the familiar sound of yet another argument brewing between her parents. Sensing the tension, her sisters grew quiet, their expressions mirroring Amber's concern.

With a heavy sigh, Amber rose from her seat, her determination to put an end to the cycle of conflict outweighing her apprehension. "I'll go talk to them..." she announced, her voice steady despite the unease gnawing at her insides.

Jay reached out to grasp her hand gently, his eyes conveying silent support. "I'll come with you." He offered, his presence as a reassuring anchor amidst the storm.

Together, hand in hand, they made their way to their parents' room, their footsteps echoing in the silence that hung heavy in the air. As they approached the door, the voices grew louder, the intensity of the argument escalating with each passing moment.

Taking a deep breath to compose herself, Amber pushed open the door, her heart pounding in her chest as she prepared to confront the source of their family's conflict.

Inside the room, her parents stood facing each other, their expressions etched with frustration and hurt. Amber's voice trembled slightly as she addressed them, her words a plea for peace and understanding in the face of adversity.

The four of them talked for a few hours. Attempting to solve the family issues and drama. Amber and Jay somehow convinced their parents to stop their arguments at least till Amber and Jay's engagement ceremony.
