Straight from the academy

11.

Throughout the night I try to spend time with as much of the team as possible, so that I can really settle in and get to know everybody. I talk to almost everyone, spending the most time with Luke and Leah though. I also speak a lot with Kathrine and Gio, and Viv and I talk quite a bit too- she's becoming kind of like a mum to me.

I am sitting on the sofa chatting with Luke, Beth and Katie McCabe when Leah comes up to me. She seems anxious but I don't know why.
"Can I speak to you quick? If you don't mind." She says, her eyes darting all over the place.
"Yeah course, I'll be back in a sec." I say slipping out of Luke's arm which was wrapped around me.
"Come on" I lead Leah into my bedroom since I know no one is in there. I shut the door behind me. "What's wrong?"
"She's here"
"Who's here?"
"Jordan. I saw Beth open the door and she walked in."
"Oh, have you spoken to her?"
"No"
"Do you want to speak to her?"
Leah stops for a second, thinking. "I don't know."
I also pause for a second before talking.
"Have you spoken at all since you split?"
"No, not really. I will just be awkward and I don't even know if she still wants to be friends with me, let alone being as close as we were."
"Talk to her Leah."
"I don't know. What if it goes really wrong and she wants nothing to do with me? Or what if she's moved on completely and has a new girlfriend?"
"Then that's whats happened. But you won't know until you speak to her."
"I'm not sure. She doesn't seem very keen to speak to me."
"Leah, please just trust me. Talk to her."
"Okay" Leah says reluctantly. I give her a quick hug and then lead her back into the crowd of the people in the kitchen.

I spot Jordan in the corner talking with Jen. I nod my head in her direction and look at Leah, raising my eyebrows. Leah just rolls her eyes at me but she walks over to them. I give her a slight nudge in the back as she is walking, which was met by her whipping her head around and giving me a death stare. I laugh and walk off, making it look like I am doing something when I'm reality I am just trying to hear what they are saying. However this didn't work and eventually I get bored desperately listening so I make my way back over to Luke and the rest of the girls.

"Can we do karaoke nowww?" Beth says whining.
"Sure, get everyone in the living room and I'll get spotify up on the tv."
Beth collects everyone in the living room and I put on the playlist I made especially for karaoke, there's loads of good sing alongs on it. Everyone has a turn singing, although to be honest it's more screaming than singing. I sing mr bright side since everyone knows the lyrics and it's easy to sing.

It gets to about 11 and people start to leave. I say goodbye to people and by about midnight everyone is gone. Luke said he said he had to get back because other wise he would have missed his training tomorrow. The only person who stayed was Viv since she is staying the night. I look through my camera roll and decide to post some of the pictures from the evening.

Me, Leah, Beth and Viv all take off our makeup and get ready for bed. I get changed into my pyjamas but I realise all my hoodies are in the wash and I'm really cold.
"Does anyone have a jumper I can borrow?" I shout from my bedroom. A few seconds later Leah comes into my room holding a blue Nike hoodie.
"Here." She says extending her arm and giving to me.
"Cheers." I say putting it on.
"We are all going to bed, I suggest you do the same, we have media tomorrow."
"Yeah I will, goodnight." Leah wraps an arm around me.
"Night." She says before leaving.
Then I get into bed and turn off the light.
