Straight from the academy

32.

"Hey Le." I say walking over and sitting next to Leah on the sofa in the lounge.

"Hey, you alright?"

"Yeah, I need to ask you something."

"Sure."

"So obviously Beth is moving in with Viv so we will have a spare bedroom. Would you mind if I asked Gio to move in with us? I wanted to make sure your okay with it first before I asked her."

"Thanks for asking. But of course, go ahead."

"Thank you!"

I give Leah and hug and then make by way back to Gio.

"I have to ask you a very big question." I once again sit down on a bean bag next to her.

"Okay?"

"Will you move in with me?"

Gio takes hold of my hands. "Of course I will, I would love nothing more." She places a gentle kiss on my lips and then puts her arm around me.

"Leah and I are helping Beth move all her stuff to Viv's house this weekend, so after that we can move your stuff in."

"Okay!"

Since it's about 12:30 the team head to the cafeteria to get some lunch before gym work. On the menu today is pasta, chicken and tomato or pesto, and fruit and veg on the side.

We sit down at a table to eat our food.

"Please try and eat something Els." Gio says to me after noticing I'm just poking around at my tomato pasta.

"I can't, I'm not hungry."

"Just try please. You need energy to train."

I don't say anything, I just continue to move the pasta around my plate and not eat it.

After about an hour, the whole team moves to the gym for some fitness and other drills. We don't spend to long in the gym, only about 45 minutes. We finish off with a quick stretch and then once again walk back to the changing rooms.

Leah and I decided to head home almost straight after the gym, as nice as it has been seeing the girls and playing again it's sucked a lot of energy out me. I'm shattered.

Gio went back to her apartment since she said she was having Kathrine over. She asked if I wanted to come but I declined her offer since I kind of just want to go home.

So for the first time in a while it will just be me and Leah in the house.

We collect our things, I give Gio a kiss and a hug goodbye and then we walk to Leah's car.

We listen to some of Leah's music on the way home and I look out the window for a lot of the journey.

Leah pulls up to the apartment and we walk up the stairs. She opens the door, I walk in and flop down into the sofa.

"Tired?" Leah says laughing.

"Exhausted."

"We can take it easy tonight then." She joins me and sits down on the sofa, grabbing the tv remote off the coffee table. "What do you want to watch?"

"I don't know, something easy."

"Harry Potter?" She asks, knowing its one of my favourites.

"As if I was going to say no. Any of them except number 4 please."

"Agreed. That one gave me nightmares for 6 months straight."

"Never again."

"Nope."

Leah picks number one and presses play. I reach for a blanket and put it over the pair of us.

We are only about 20 minutes into the movie when Leah gets a message.

"Shit."

"What?"

"It's from Jordan."

"Oh my god what does it say?"

"I don't know I haven't opened it. I don't think I can."

"Here give me the phone." Leah passes me the phone and I open the message. I go to reply but Leah stops me.

"Woah woah woah tell me what it says before you say anything back."

"It says 'I miss you and I'm sorry'."

"Oh." I show Leah the message and she stares blankly at it.

"You okay Le?"

"I'm fine. Just a bit...confused."

"Do you miss her?"

"Of course I do. I haven't stopped missing her. I just didn't think she missed me back."

"Well clearly she does." I say shrugging my shoulders. "What do you want me to say back?"

"Uh..I don't know."

I start typing something and Leah peers over to try and see. I press send on the message and then show Leah what I put.

"I just said 'I miss you too'."

"Okay. Has she replied?"

Leah's phone lights up. "She has now." I open the message. "She asked to meet with you tomorrow morning for coffee."

"Oh my god okay um..say yes I guess?"

"You guess? Leah you need to be sure about this."

"Okay, okay. Say yes. That way I can at least hear what she has to say."

I reply back and say yes. "I've done it. Your meeting up with her tomorrow morning at 9 before training."

Leah leans her head onto my shoulder. "This is a good thing right?"

"Yeah, she misses you, she wants you back. It's what you wanted right?"

"I think so. I don't know. I was finally kind of at peace with the idea that me and Jordan would never happen again. But now this messes everything up and I'm confused again. Do I have to go tomorrow?"

"I already agreed to saying yes and I think you should. At least then you will know where you two stand. Do you want a relationship with her again?"

"Yeah I do, I just don't want it to end badly like last time."

"Just speak to her Le."

Leah nods her head and I put my arm around her.
