𝐓𝐖𝐎, the puppet of carnage

GOJO SATORU WAS SEALED. THE words sent a tingling sensation throughout Mizuhime's brain.

Not dead, but sealed. He was... gone. Away. Far, far away from her.

A hysterical giggle erupted from her throat.

The biggest problem in her life—gone, just like that because apparently he was stupid enough to get himself sealed. She remembered what he said to her before everyone parted ways for the mission; how he promised to see her tonight and how he would buy her a ring. Now that was never going to happen because he was gone.

Gone, gone, gone. Was this what true happiness tasted like? Because she had never felt so elated in all her life.

She laughed harder at that, to the point that tears were budding in the corners of her eyes. As she reached out to wipe them away, a worried voice called out to her, "...Uh, Mizuhime?"

Ino's voice. She snapped out of it, suddenly pushed back into focus. She didn't realize it, but everyone had stopped to stare at her as if she had gone mad. Not that she could blame them, she did start laughing out of the blue as if a national disaster wasn't in their midst. Megumi and Ino looked bewildered and a little apprehensive, but Nanami... he was understanding and grim. Like he knew just why she was so hysterical.

"Sorry," she apologized, smiling a little too happily to seem truly 'sorry'. "I was just... stuck in my head. Don't worry about it. Let's get going."

They were clearly worried about it. Well, Ino and Megumi were with the wary glances they would occasionally send her way. Nanami was different. He was silent. He knew why this news brought her such joy and while he didn't know about what Gojo had done to her several days before, he could take a guess.

(He was too late and too powerless. Gojo had done it. Oh, if only Haibara could see them now. He hoped to god that he wasn't watching over them; Haibara would've been ashamed of what he was seeing. He had become weak and their once precious senpai had become a monster.)

They continued heading towards Yuji's voice, which seemed to get louder and more desperate the closer they got. They scaled the building with ease, and Megumi had to cover his ears to block the volume.

"NANAMIIIIIIN!" Yuji kept hollering. "NANAMIN! NANAMIN! NANAMIIIIIIIN!"

They arrived at the back, so Yuji didn't see or detect them right away. Megumi didn't hesitate to whack him on the head, which wasn't very romantic of him.

"Nanamin!" Yuji gasped in relief when he saw them. "You guys are finally here!"

"So 'Nanamin' was really Nanami..." Ino muttered under his breath.

"Forget that," Nanami interrupted. "Itadori, what's going on?"

"And what's that on your ear?" Mizuhime had to ask. It looked like an earpiece, but... "Why is Mechamaru-san's face on it?"
