Heigh Ho, Heigh Ho, It's Off to Work I Go

Phil's POV

Phil walked into the news studio around 5:45 that morning. He was arriving a bit later than usual, it had been his day to get coffee and he overslept.

"Good morning, Phil," the secretary said as he walked in.

"Hello, Amanda," Phil smiled. Amanda had worked there longer than Phil had, and was a close friend of his.

"There's someone waiting for you in the break room. He's supposed to be following you around today," Amanda told him, as he walked away from her.

"Oh. Usually they tell me about that beforehand," Phil said slowly.

Amanda shrugged as he headed towards the break room.

In the break room, he was greeted by a tall man with brown eyes and hair. The man was stunning.

"Um, hi, my name is," the boy started. He paused for a minute, like he didn't know his own name. "Dan." the boy finished.

"Hello Dan, I'm Phil," Phil laughed. "So, you'll be following me around today?"

Dan nodded.

"Okie dokie. Well, it looks like the others are already down at the news desk, and I need to give them their coffee, so let's go," Phil told Dan, leading him out of the room.

The men walked into the news studio, and were suddenly surrounded by reporters and cameramen. Phil quickly handed some people coffee, and walked back to Dan.

"It's usually pretty hectic around this time. Everyone is going over their stories, and getting ready for the six o'clock news," Phil smiled.

Dan nodded. He looked bored.

"Well, we better go over there. I'm on air at 6:17," Phil said, leading Dan to the green screen weather was filmed on.

Phil introduced Dan to some of the cameramen, and then showed him where he could stand to stay out of the way.

Dan was nice enough, Phil thought. He hoped he ended up getting hired so he could get to know him better.

He caught Dan staring at him multiple times, but he had to admit, he didn't really mind. He could definitely get used to it.
