3:30 p.m. La Push Reservation
I wake up human again, but I'm completely naked. I don't even have shoes on. I'm going to have to swallow my pride and walk back to the house naked. How much worse could this day get?
It's not that I'm ugly or anything, I'm pretty confident in the way I look.
But I was confused, and actually kind of scared. I don't know why I got so angry. I'm usually able to handle myself.
Why had he even spoken to me in the first place? I didn't say anything loud enough for him to hear, he could have just brushed past me and left it at that.
As I'm trudging back up to the house, I hear someone coming towards me. Not knowing what better to do, I hide behind a tree to see if they'll keep going.
This is ridiculous. I'm practically a trespasser. I don't know anybody, I don't even know my cousin's name because that damn folder is still in the car.
Oh my gosh, my car. I hope it's okay.
"You might as well come out. I can smell you." I can't help but smell myself after he says that.
Okay, changed my mind. I am NOT walking out in front of total strangers naked. "I honestly think I'll pass on that."
He laughs
"Don't you want some clothes? They're from Leah, so they might be a little too big for you, but I'm sure they're better than being, um, exposed."
I can almost feel him blushing. Before I step out from behind the tree, a female, I assume Leah, stands next to him.
"Please come out? I have to see the person who put Jake in his place."
Feeling like a stubborn 4 year old I ask for the clothes first. Leah brings them to me and waits impatiently. "Sorry I didn't bring more, I figured we were different sizes from your wolf."
I smile "Thank you though, seriously. You're the first person I've met that's actually been relatively friendly. I'm Macey by the way."
By this time we've stepped out from behind the tree.
The male that was talking to me before is still there. It feels like I'm frozen, all I can see is him, everything else is blurred. His handsome body, his seemingly piercing eyes, his short brown hair, his-.
Leah snaps me out of my trance by introducing him. "Macey, Embry. Embry, Macey. Introduction over."
Embry doesn't reply. It looks like his eyes are glazed over, like he's not here. Leah slaps him over the head and he comes to, shaking my hand in the process. I have to be imagining those sparks.
"Nice to meet you."
I can't help but blush "Same."
4 p.m. Black's house
I walk into the house, and I can feel the stares I'm getting from every corner of the small living room. Not knowing what to do, I stand at the door awkwardly, fidgeting with the short shorts that Leah gave me.
My cousin (Whose name I still don't know.) is the first to speak.
"I want to apologize for my behavior this morning. I was rash and should have had better control over my anger." He looks at a man in a wheelchair as if to ask if he was done.
"In that case, I'm sorry too. I've had a really bad week and shouldn't have taken it out on you."
I want to add more, but decide that setting him off again isn't the best idea.
The man in the wheelchair claps his hands together to get the small group's attention "Well then, shows over guys, I think I can handle the two now."
After a few grumbles, and encouraging smiles from Embry and Leah, the room is empty.
