2 months later..
Monica's pov

"When are you coming home?" I whined over the phone to my fiancé. Yeah, I'm definitely wearing that title out.

"I wanna come home now, but it's looking like I won't be until at least Saturday.." she explained, causing me to groan.

"That's four days from now and you've already been gone for a week. I miss you.."

"I miss you more-" I heard some noise in the back as she paused before returning to our conversation. "-but the days will go by fast and then I'll be back home. Hopefully court isn't dragged out anymore than it already has been."

"What are they saying now?"

"I don't even know anymore. Everything is all over the place and we haven't even went in front of the judge yet. But I'm waiting right now for my lawyer so we can go meet with her to try to negotiate one last time." She explained to me.

Brandy's case with her mom couldn't be settled out of court after she refused to give her mom 50% of her album sales. Brandy wasn't at all worried knowing that now she more than likely wouldn't have to pay her mother a dime, but the media wasn't being the kindest.

Their were a lot of opinions and the most common one seemed to be that people believed Brandy to be a brat who didn't care about her mother. When in reality that couldn't be further from the truth and her mom getting on any platform she could to slander Brandy's name didn't help either.

So, she's been L.A for the past week trying to work something out before the had to appear in court. Meanwhile, I've been working on my album for the last two months and had recorded almost half of the songs.

I was so excited for this album. After dropping my Ep the anticipation was high and I just hoped I wouldn't disappoint.

"Do you think she'll come around this time?" I asked out of curiosity.

"Hell no, but I have to try unfortunately. I just want this to be over so I can come home and we can start planning the wedding.." She sighed.

"Yeah, I understand, but it'll be over soon and when you get a chance look at the emails I sent you about possible venues." She nodded and started to talk to someone in her background.

The next thing I knew I heard commotion coming from behind me.  I turned around to see Kandi approach me.

"What's wrong?" I asked, immediately standing to my feet.

"T-Toya and Tiny are about to fight. I tried to break it up but they keep going at it.." she said, trying to catch her breath.

I looked up at her confused and started to walk back with her to the studio I left them in.

"Bouj, I'll call you back. Okay?"

"Alright, baby. Everything good?" She asked.

"Mmhm. I'll explain later! I love you bye.."

"I love you too.." I heard her say before I hung up. I could hear the arguing before we even made it to the door. I groaned internally thinking about what could possibly be such a big deal that they were about to fight in the studio.
