Next day...
Monica's pov

"Okay, we're going to let you guys say your goodbyes before the head doctor comes in and walks you through everything that will happen." The nurse told me before leaving us to say goodbye.

"I guess I'll call y'all when I wake up..." I said as I pulled my pajamas out.

"Okay, but I'll be here as soon as visiting hours start..." Brandy told me, causing me to smile.

"Nervous?" Toya asked.

"Mm a little, but mainly because I don't think I'll be able to sleep. She said I'll have a lot hooked up to me and hospitals are already loud as is.." I expressed to them.

My doctor decided it would be best to have a sleep study done. So, here I was at the hospital about to be monitored while sleeping. Was I nervous? Yes, but I was motivated by the fact that this could help them understand what was wrong.

"You'll just have to try and relax.." Toya said and I nodded. "Yeah, I'm sure they'll let you listen to music that usually helps you relax." Brandy added and I nodded at her as I started to undress.

"Yeah, my doctor said I could watch tv, listen to music, read a book before they put everything on my head and body.." I said as I threw my shirt over my head.

"Okay, well sleep tight, sister girl.." Toya said giving me a hug. I laughed and hugged her tight.

"You sure you don't need anything?" Brandy asked once I finished hugging Toya. "Yes, I'm fine. You're more nervous than me..." I laughed.

"I know it's just sleep right? I just don't want leave you here by yourself." She said, tugging me in by my waist. "I know..."

"Y'all are so dramatic. Like it's hard to watch.." Toya groaned, from her place in the side. "Then look away!" Brandy yelled back causing me to laugh.

We finished saying our goodbyes and they left out the room. Not long after my doctor came in to give me more instructions.

"I don't want you to feel nervous at all. All you have to do is sleep. Our sleep tech is going to place electrodes on your head and body and then you will be free to sleep. If you wake up that is fine, we're testing you're specific pattern of sleep." She rambled and I nodded at her as the tech started to place the electrodes on me.

"Any questions before we begin."

"Um are these going to hurt once we start the study..." I asked after looking at all the cords that were placed on me.

"Not at all... some patients even say after awhile they forgot they are there..." I nodded and took a deep breath letting my eyes close.

"Alright Monica.. if you need anything press that button, but if not I will see you in morning."

"Okay, Thanks.." I said arching as she left out the room and turned the lights off.

It wasn't completely dark because of the light from the t.v, but it was dark enough to where I would be able to sleep. I rolled over on my side being careful not to mess anything up and started to feel drowsy.
