What Just Happened? (Updated.)

Y/N wakes up in a white void, and he grasps his head as a ringing sound goes through it.

Y/N: "Ow... What Just Happened?"

???: "You died."

Y/N blinked, and he looked around for the sign of the voice.

Y/N: "...Hello?"

???: "Hey."

Y/N: "You said I died? How? I don't remember anything."

???: "You died serving your country. You saved your squad, and countless others. You were considered as a hero, and awarded many honors because of that."

Y/N looked down as he started to remember.

Y/N: "I'm just glad that they are okay."

???: "Well, since you did such a heroic act, I'm gonna let you decide what comes next."

Y/N: (Surprised) "Wait, what? I don't go to heaven or something?"

???: "Oh no, you can still choose that, and It's about everything you can expect. Your every wish would come true, and you'd live in paradise for eternity."

Y/N: "And the other option?"

???: "You'll get to choose what Universe you can be reincarnated in."

Y/N: "I see."

???: "Don't worry though. If you die in that Universe, you'll still go to heaven."

Y/N: "Then... I'll choose the reincarnation one."

???" "Alright. Which Universe then?"

Y/N: "Mass Effect. It was my favorite trilogy, and I'd love to experience it."

???: "Alright then. Anything else?"

Y/N: "Yeah. I want a few modifications though."

???: "Which is?"

Y/N: "I want Mjolnir Spartan armor, with the benefits of also being a Spartan 2."

???: "Very well. I should warn you, however. From this moment forward, you will be on your own."

Y/N wakes up to find himself in a room. He was a child, about the age of 7. memories flash through him. He was an Orphan on earth. Now he was taken by a shadow orginization in the Alliance Military. Cerberus, specifically. They feared the sudden introduction of Aliens and their power in the Galaxy. So they saw fit to try and make sure human dominance can still be in effect. And he was one of 70 candidates selected through specific genetic markers. Mostly from Strength, Intelligence, and minimal rejection from what would later be enhancements. They also selected candidates who had been exposed to Element Zero, which allows for abilities that Biotics use.

He went through absolute Hell. He was given the designation of Y/N-117. And through the Years he was forced to learn many different aspects. The basic elements of Education. But also more advanced components, such as tactics and even physics. He was never treated like a child. Instead, a soldier. The reason why they were chosen so young was so they could learn military doctrine and strategies that adults would struggle to adapt to. As they say, children are malleable. As cruel as it was, it was effective, if unethical. Many died during training before they even had the chance to get their augmentations.

At the age of 14, on the onset of puberty, the ones that had made it this far all underwent the Spartan Augmentations. To grant them superhuman abilities. To make them Stronger than the Krogan. More disciplined than the Turians. Smarter than the Salarians. More powerful with their biotics than the Asari.

Unfortunately, out of the 70 subjects, only one had survived in one piece. The project was deemed a failure, and in order to make sure this never got out, they were authorized to liquidate 117.

However, even at the age of 15, he was still a force to be reckoned with. He killed anyone who got in his way, hijacked a shuttle, and ran. 

Eventually, the Alliance Navy SSV Tokyo had found 117's shuttle adrift in Space. They confiscated him and found him to be no ordinary human. when asked who he was, he gave his name.

Y/N Shepard.

He was kept secret.

While treated better by the Alliance than by Cerberus, he was told to reintegrate with civilian life would be a waste of his talents, and that at the earliest opportunity, he should sign on with the Alliance Navy.

And he did. When he was of age, he was immediately assigned to serve in the Alliance as a valuable resource. And it showed. On Elysium, he held his ground against what was a whole army of Batarians. He was the sole reason why that colony still stands. He was awarded many commendations for his service.

Eventually, the Alliance went to fund he gets a specialized Hardsuit. Called Mjolnir armor. it costed a fortune to make, but it was well worth it. Increasing the strenght, speed, durability and reflexes of the user, effectively making him a one man army. And a specialized Biotic amp to allow for more force and power to be used in his biotic abilities.

Eventually, he came under the service of Captain Anderson. And was later transferred to the SSV Normandy.

As of now, he is currently a Lieutenant Commander in the Alliance Navy. And slated for Spectre evaluation.
