Dear Reader,
I just want to make a few things known before you move on. This book only exists because my lovely author friend, Selena Lowe, gave me the original prompt and said she felt this story was a good fit for my style of writing. Once I read the idea, how could I refuse?
I was in the middle of writing my ONC2023 novellas, but I didn't want the story to slip through the cracks. So I pulled together some concept art, gave the project a name, and wrote out some outline ideas. The title and cover of this book are temporary until I have ironed out the final details.
Additionally, you are reading the "first draft" of this story. There will be some mistakes that I might not catch beforehand, though I do make an effort to post the best version of my first drafts to Wattpad. I have adjusted to my dyslexia, I think I have a better handle on it. So I don't ask people to ignore the misspellings or missing punctuations anymore. I just don't like being that person.
Trigger warnings: This book has the representation of amputees (two characters have lost a limb or two and wear prosthetics). Mentions of death and blood. Secondary characters partake in alcoholic activities. One character remembers her experience with pregnancy and miscarriage. There may also be mild use of harsh language.
If any of these things are not for you, do not read further. If you choose to read on, do so at your own risk.
Finally, thank you for taking interest in my work. I hope you will enjoy this adventure as much as I did writing it. I am super pleased to present you with this story. Enjoy!
P.S. I am currently knees-deep in writing my #ONC2024 novella as I make the decision to post this book and schedule my writing time for Summer 2024. Even when I knew I had a scheduled project but couldn't shake the sudden urge to quietly write a first chapter. And yes, I created Wattpad draft of this book on March 1st, 2023.
