The days passed. One day, Jenny stepped out of the lift and looked around. She said: "what the hell happened here? Well, thank goodness Captain Kirk gave my family clearance to go anywhere on the ship. I'm going to make use of that right now. Hopefully engineering is alright." Then Jenny walked into the lift and went down to engineering. She reached engineering level and stepped out of the lift and walked down the hall and walked into the transporter room and found Scotty sitting on the steps with his head in his hands and walked over and sat down beside him and said gently: "are you okay?" Scotty looked up and said: "I failed everyone." Jenny said gently: "hey now, I'm sure that's not true. Now, tell me what's wrong and maybe I can help you." Scotty said: "why are you doing this?" Jenny said gently: "being the Chief engineer is a hard job to do alone. And I have a good knowledge of starships and the innards." Scotty looked at her and caved and told her. Jenny listened patiently. When Scotty was done, she placed her hand on his shoulder and said gently: "come on. We can fix the problem together." Scotty said: "thank you. You have no idea how grateful I am." Jenny smiled and said gently: "I think I do. Everyone needs help sometimes. And you need help to fix the problem." Then Jenny stood and helped Scotty to his feet. They walked down the hall and walked into the engine room. Jenny climbed up the shaft and grabbed her sonic screwdriver and said: "I see the problem. Scotty, get to the transporter room. I'll get those transporters working for you." Scotty ran to the transporter room. Jenny flipped her sonic screwdriver open and aimed it at the wires and fired. She messed with the wires. Scotty came on over the intercom and said: "Lassie, whatever you just did, it worked. The landing party arrived up in one piece." Jenny flipped her sonic screwdriver closed and climbed down the shaft and walked over to the intercom and said: "happy to help. I'm on my way to the transporter room." Then Jenny put her sonic screwdriver away and ran to the transporter room. She ran into the transporter room. Captain Kirk said: "were you the one responsible for us getting up here in one piece?" Jenny said: "I was. I found your Chief Engineer in here believing that he'd failed everyone. After locating the problem, I was able to fix it. I'm glad that I was able to fix the transporter. Excuse me." She walked out of the transporter room and walked down the hall and walked into the lift and went up. She stopped at one of the levels and stepped out of the lift and walked down the hall to her family's cabin and walked into her family's cabin. John looked up and stood and said gently: "Jenny, are you okay?" Jenny ran over to John and fairly launched herself into his arms. John pulled her into his arms and said gently: "shhh. What happened?" Jenny said: "it's a long story."
