"Wait, what? You killed her son?" Aerith asked.
I let out a breath.
"Her children are monsters. The one I killed was a dragon that looked like it was made of solid gold. Her last son destroyed hundreds and thousands of people, burned villages. He burned mine. Someone had to stop him." I say.
She tricked me. I went into her cave hoping to destroy her, but I witnessed her true power. I've seen her cruelty. Her power was ancient, and her words were like a dangerous melody. She moved around me like a river. In her cave I was helpless. She tossed me around like a ragdoll. I managed to kill her son barely, but I almost died, and I couldn't even try to kill her. She destroyed my sword.
"When I was almost dead, I thought for sure she would kill. But she didn't. Instead, she offered me a deal. She said that since I took something from her, she wanted me to love her and fuck with her or else she would kill everyone I've cared about." I say.
Everyone looked at me. Oh boy.
"I still don't know why she fucks me." I say.
"What does she mean what happened last time you strayed?" Aerith asked.
I let out a sigh.
"One time I wanted out. I was thinking about running away from her." I say.
I look down.
"Turns out she was right when she said she would kill everyone I've cared about. She... killed my mother in front of me. She said if I don't follow up on the deal more bodies will rot in the ground." I say.
Aerith and Tifa looked at me. I turned away. Aerith walked up to me so did Tifa.
"I am so sorry." Tifa said.
"Cloud I-" Barret started.
I move away from them.
"Let's just find the weapon and leave this." I say.
