Informative By-Laws:
This isn't like a regular book club.

Okay, "pick me" book club, right?

Kidding, I got the idea for this format from Dreamland (Hunt). I know I said not to advertise other book clubs in the by-laws below, but they have good ones. I would also recommend the Lavender Book Club too!

Anyways.

Coven members have one month to read one chapter of any book of their choosing (or more) and three chapters of the Book of the Month.

The Book of the Month is chosen by whoever has the most points at the end of the respective month.

For the first month, it will be chosen randomly through a random generator where each original Coven member will be put forth in the random generator.

You receive points by reading more chapters of books from fellow Coven members.

For example:
Everyone, by the end of the month, should have at least 10 points.

Book of the Month chapters are worth 3 points and other books are worth 1 point per chapter.

You build more points by reading more chapters. Where you and your book are listed is where you will fill out your scores in inline comments.

So, I would write "2 chapters of The Crowe Inheritance by @adriellereina"

Pretty easy, right?

To make sure Coven members are actually reading the books, you will have to leave five inline comments throughout the chapters you read OR one general comment at the end of the chapters you read that are at least five sentences.

Please make sure your comments are thoughtful. Don't leave emojis or a couple of words. Show that you've read. Provide constructive feedback. Not destructive feedback. Be kind.

There will be a strike system in place. If you get three strikes by not completing the minimum required amount of reading, you will be ostracized from the Coven.

But! We aren't heartless here. If you genuinely need to take a hiatus, just message me. No form or anything. Just let me know.

"But wait," you say, "What if my book is Book of the Month?"

✨Enjoy your free points.✨

Your minimum reading is one chapter of one of the other books for that month. Huzzah!

"What if the writer who had Book of the Month gets the most points?"

It would go to the second person with the most points.

"BUT WHAT IF THERE IS A TIE?!"

There will be a tie breaker via random generator. The next Book of the Month will be the person who lost the tie breaker. And so on and so forth. In the event of that happening, scores from everyone else will be tallied for both months.

Other By-Laws
1) While this may be obvious, please abide by Wattpad's guidelines so I'm not kicked into the vortex of Wattpadia.

2) Be respectful to your fellow Coven members. If not, you will be banished to the dark abyss.

3) I'm sure there are many cool book clubs, but don't promote them here unless you want to be cursed with hairy buttcheeks forever. Not even Nair will help you.

4) The only political commentary allowed here is the fictional kind. What's up with your characters and some horrible monarchs? KEEPING IT WRITING RELATED HERE IS TO KEEP IT MAGICAL. Thanks.

5) Hate speech will also get you cursed and abandoned into the abyss.

6) Seriously, just be kind, okay? No one wants drama, especially me. I'm too old and cranky for it.

7) There will be forms to fill out to join! So, fill the form out, please.

8) This is called the Future Banned Writer's Coven. Therefore, it's safe to assume, most of the topics written about may be, well, *tendentious* at times. However, just because some of our stories may depict violent or controversial themes, doesn't mean we have to be violent or controversial ourselves. After all, there's a difference between highlighting what's wrong with the world and wanting to see it burn.

9) You can choose which books you want to read (yes, really. We're a chill Coven). Just make sure you read the Book of the Month.

10) If a book of the month is mature and you're a minor/feel uncomfortable, you can either read a different book by the same author. If the author only has mature works, you will not have to do the BotM.

11) Enjoy yourselves while you're here!

12) Follow me so you don't miss updates and announcements. Password is coven.
