Did Louis know everything?

No.

Did Louis think he knew everything?

Yes.

See the problem?

What was supposed to be a quiet Tuesday in the Stylin Household was anything but, as the eldest Stylin felt the fate of his family was squarely on his shoulders, and his shoulders alone.

It had been announced at breakfast that Harry was taking Max to the doctor, the hybrid had been teething something fierce lately and hadn't done much of anything but wail. It sounded like a well-deserved break for the brothers, Liam gasping at the news thanking his parents by rubbing his ears with a narrowed glare toward the younger one that sat sleepily in his highchair, "'f-fank you's," Liam grumbled, he'd love a peaceful house for the day.

Louis didn't pay much mind to the announcement after he learned it wasn't him going to the dreaded doctor, he was much too busy sneaking salt onto Liam's eggs seeing just how much he could sprinkle onto the breakfast before the boy noticed the new flavor.

"Is she coming today?" Niall asks suddenly, he's standing in the kitchen poking his head into the room with worry creased into his brow, his icy eyes snapping to Zayn's that darken at the question, "she is," Zayn confirms, his tone lowered.

Louis' ears flicker at the change in pitch, he raises an eyebrow at the parents, a sneaking suspicion that something was going on when Niall inhales deeply, "Then I think I'll join daddy at the doctor," he inquires, Harry lifts his head with a smile, he pauses from directing the mashed peaches into Max's mouth, "Maxie gets both dada and baba," he coos.

Shaking his head with a growing pout at how weird his parents were acting, Louis jumps when Zayn clears his throat calling for the boy, "Put the salt down," he scolds, Louis glances seeing he had in fact begun salting his own eggs while not paying attention, he returns the shaker to the table glumly glancing at Liam that smirked, "I-I's 'moo-oved y-ya's hand," he admits with a giggle bringing his chocolate milk to his lips, Louis can't help but proudly nod at his younger brother, He's not as dumb as he used to be, he thinks.

"Boys!" Zayn calls standing at the bottom of the stairs, Harry and Niall had left shortly after breakfast, leaving the remaining three at the house, both hybrids scattering upstairs to continue their game of cops and robbers from last night.

Liam trails his older brother to the top of the stairs both hybrids peering down at the man questionably, "Papa is going to be down here with a friend, you two stay upstairs and play," Zayn commands, Louis taking a few steps closer to the man, "W-what f-friend?"

"Just a friend Lou Lou, go back upstairs and play," Zayn assures beginning to turn around, "Gi-gigi?" Louis asks softly, he's climbed all the way downstairs toward the man, he stands with his feet turned inward, hands nervously linking themselves together as he feels a knot tying in his stomach from fear of the answer. Zayn sighs kneeling down in front of the boy, he rubs his ear soothingly, "No, it's not Gigi bubba."

"T-Tay-lor?"

Zayn chuckles bringing Louis close with a kiss on the forehead, he lifts the boy in his arms strolling upstairs passing Liam on the way, "Not Taylor either, just a friend I have to do some business with, now you two stay here. She's going to be taking some pictures, I don't want my boys in them," setting Louis down he kisses him once more pulling Liam close, "Be nice to each other, no hitting," Liam rolls his eyes at the order, he decked the kid once and he'd never heard the end of it, Zayn laughs ruffling Liam's hair leaving the two in the playroom shutting the door behind him.
