I turn off the Televison and began heading upstairs. I walk up the stairs forgetting to turn off the kitchen lights, I turn around as I feel the hairs stand up on my neck aware that the freezing cold air has gotten in through the crack in the front door. I rush back downstairs to flicker off the lights. As i began heading back upstairs I hear laughing and giggling coming from outside. The watch on my wrist lights up as I look downwards to it. the time reads ''3:01 am, Thursday, October 2nd.'' I creep towards the glistening window and see an energetic little girl about 7 or 8 years of age.

I look closer as I see a large, dark, shadow about 11 feet tall hovering around the little girl trying to lore her in its trap. The little girl stops to stare at the large shadow, as she creeps closer the shadow appears more larger than normal. The little girl then reaches out to the tall shadow as it begins to look as if it is smiling. I stare emotionless at the tall shadow as it begins to swallow the little girl and disappear. I close the blinds and dart upstairs unaware of what I just saw. I turn on the Television and lie on my bed, as I slowly drift asleep.

The next day, I sat on my bed thinking about the tragedy and how the girl's parents must've felt about her disappearance. I slowly get out of bed walking to the front door of my house looking as if the shadow is still there. I open the door to stare out at the dry, dull, neighborhood as a young boy around 4 or 5 years of age walks up to my doorstep. ''Excuse me mister?'' the little boy says. "Me and Mother are looking for my elder sister, maybe you have seen her.'' he finishes. I look into the poor little boy eyes as I answer, "No, sorry.''

The little boy then turns around to leave as I start to remember the shadow that ate that little girl last night. I start walking to the little boy, but something stops me. I feel as if it's wrong to tell the little boy the traumatizing news I had seen last night. The boy walked into his home looking hurt. My heart breaks for the family and their precious little girl. As I go inside my home, I see a lifelike figure walking into my kitchen. I rush up the stairs not looking behind myself as sweat droops down my warried, rose, cheeks.

I lock myself into the dusty attic as I cry in fear, I began to pray as the footsteps grow louder.  Sounding as if the 'thing' has crept into the cold dreary halls below. The loud footsteps come to an end, as I become skeptical about the deathly figure. Music plays in the background as I begin to climb out of the wary, dusty, attic. I tiptoe into the dining room, to see the deathly figure staring straight back at me. My blood runs cold. I began struggling to move nor speak, as the figure began to creep closer revealing details more. I began to remember the night before, the night where it swallowed the little girl whole. I forget about anything else as it drifts closer. The figure becomes clearer as I see a young lady about the age of 23 smiling sharply. I began to see the purpose for her here.
