~Brian's POV~

When Matthew texted that they were a block from the apartment, Brian was in his closet, fixing his collar. He had dressed in black slacks and a navy-blue collared shirt. He left the top two buttons undone, before turning to check his freshly cut hair in the mirror.

Slowly making his way down the hall, grimacing a little to himself at the growing pain in both his leg and his gut, Brian leaned a little against the counter as he waited for the two girls. Glancing over at Katie.

"Matthew got you in touch with that assistant that will be helping you tomorrow?"

"Yes, sir. She seems very nice."

Brian nodded. "Good. If she does a good job, do me a favour and have Matthew save her contact for the future."

"Of course, sir."

Brian turned to the door as it was pushed open. Matthew stepped in with a large number of bags in both of his hands.

"I will put these on the bed, Miss Dixion," Matthew said.

Elise nodded as she stepped into the apartment, glancing at Brian with a warm smile. "Is it okay if he puts them on the bed? I'll put them away when Skylar leaves."

"Of course," Brian said nodding "I want a fashion show later."

Elise laughed shaking her head "of everything or just the lingerie?"

"All of it," Brian said, smiling warmly as she stepped over to him pressing a brief kiss to his lips.

"Thank you for the shopping spree, I really needed it," Elise said. She pulled his credit card from her purse and passed it back to him.

He wouldn't be surprised if he got a call from the company to confirm all the charges today. He rarely used the card for purchases under $1,000.

"Of course," Brian said with a smile taking the card. "I'm glad you had fun."

Elise smiled, touching her lips to his again before stepping back.

Brian turned his gaze to Skylar. Straightening up he reached a hand out for her to shake "and you must be Skylar. It's nice to see you again."

"Likewise," Skylar said with a warm bright smile, shaking his hand. "I have heard so much about you."

Brian laughed a little, glancing at Elise who was blushing a little. "Likewise. All good things of course."

Skylar laughed nodding in agreement.

"Miss Dixion, Miss Soini, can I get either of you something to drink?" Katie asked from the kitchen.

"Long Island iced tea please, Katie," Elise said.

Katie nodded "and for you Miss Soini?"

"Spiced rum and coke?" Skylar asked.

"A water, sir?" Katie asked.

Brian nodded. "Matthew will be dropping off the pizza in about an hour."

"So how have you been doing since your accident?" Skylar asked as she sat down across from him.

Brian turned his gaze to hers with a small shrug "I'm healing more and more every day."

"That's good to hear. I watched the news story a week after it happened... why I had to learn about it on the news and not through your girlfriend I don't get."

Brian glanced at Elise who took a drink before answering "to be honest... telling you never really crossed my mind."

"Ouch," Skylar said with a small hurt frown.
