THE NEXT MORNING

3rd Person POV

Siwoo slowly woke up with a groan, her body protesting against the pain from the previous night's chaos. "Aw shit," she muttered under her breath as she carefully sat up. Her muscles ached, and she winced as she swung her legs off the bed. She walked to the mirror and checked herself out, her heart sinking as she saw the bruise on her shoulder. Her lip had swollen up even more than she expected, looking worse than before.

DING Her phone buzzed loudly, snapping her out of her thoughts. "Ugh, it's 3 AM, who is still awake?" she grumbled as she unlocked her phone. A message from Bomi popped up.

BOMBOM🫶
Hey Siwoo, I heard from one of our classmates that you were talking bad about me. And I just wanted to say that if I hear from someone that you did it again, I will fight you.

siwoo
Why would I speak about you? We're friends?

BOMBOM🫶
Sure. I just wanted to tell you what will happen if you do that again.

Siwoo paused, squinting her eyes as she read the message, feeling a cold anger rise inside of her.

siwoo
Who even talked about you?

BOMBOM🫶
Can't say.

siwoo
Then don't come at me with this bullshit if you can't even tell me who you got it from.

BOMBOM🫶 Is offline

Siwoo stared at the screen for a moment, her frustration boiling over. "Why the fuck would you go offline?" she muttered angrily, tossing the phone aside. She took a deep breath to calm herself before sinking back into her bed with a sigh.

Three hours later

The soft creak of her door opening pulled Siwoo from her sleep. She barely had time to react before she felt someone shaking her awake. "Siwoo, stand up or we'll be late," Sieun's voice cut through the grogginess, emotionless as always.

She groaned, still not fully awake. "I already showered, so I left the water on for you. Go hurry up," he said, walking out of the room without waiting for a response.

20 minutes later

Sieun knocked on her door, his voice breaking through her half-conscious daze. "Yeah?" Siwoo responded, wrapping the towel tighter around her body.

"Hurry up, we still have to catch the bus," Sieun's voice came again, impatient.

Siwoo quickly turned off the shower and wrapped her towel around her, stepping out of the bathroom. "Okay, I'm getting out now," she said as she checked herself in the bathroom mirror, brushing a hand over her messy hair.

10 minutes later

Sieun knocked again, his impatience evident. "Siwoo, hurry up!"

"I'm almost done," she called back as she pulled her headphones out from one of her desk drawers. "Got them!" she said with a grin, grabbing the headphones and slipping on her shoes. She quickly grabbed her bag and headed toward the door.

Sieun was waiting, tapping his foot impatiently with the keys in his hand. "Okay, let's go," he said, opening the front door with a sigh of relief.

On the bus

Siwoo sat in her seat, already pulling out her phone to text Jiyeon, just like she did every morning.

JINNIE🫶

Siwoo

Good morning, Ji!

The message was read, but the reply didn't come immediately.

Siwoo
?? Okay

Just as she was about to send another message, the screen flashed with an error. Message sending failed.

Siwoo frowned and tried again, but her phone refused to cooperate. "Huh?" she muttered, looking up in confusion. Sieun turned around, sensing her frustration.

"Is something wrong?" he asked, glancing at her phone.

"No," Siwoo said, brushing it off. "Anyways, I have to go. Bye, Sieun-ah," she added, giving him a quick kiss on his head before slipping out of her seat and making her way off the bus.
