Albino/Blind Iris Au

Basically Iris is Blind also Mephisto is Deaf and the accessory on his ear is a hearing aid. Gramorr doesn't know.

It was strange.

Iris never thought she would hear any of her enemies cry. Although she should've guessed Mephisto would be the first, she never would've expected the reason to be serious considering how…comical he was.

Iris had accidentally mentioned Mephisto was deaf when she was tricked by Gramorr and the twins. She thought he knew, but the sharp breath the twins took and Gramorr's sudden interest in Mephisto told her otherwise. She tried to blow it off as an insult and it wasn't true, but Iris has always been a horrible liar.

Of course Gramorr didn't believe her but before anything could happen to her, or Mephisto, Auriana and Taila thankfully came in. The usual stuff happened, battle the twins, figure out the monster's weakness and use Crystal Luxtra. But during it all, her heart wasn't in it, guilt was weighing her down to much. Mephisto's attacks seemed more…panicked? She doesn't know how to describe it. Praxina's we're definitely more desperate.

After that she hadn't seen the twins for at least a month, Taila and Auriana were relieved about it but also cautious. Iris on the other hand, was fearing the worst.

Iris finally told the others about Gramorr's reaction to Mephisto being deaf, while the girls were worried, they were horrified when Iris asked if they should look for them. Taila immediately shot it down, saying it's too dangerous, Auriana backed her up saying they're probably alright and then seeing us would anger them.

Iris wasn't one to give up, sometimes it was strength and sometimes it was weakness, she couldn't tell which one it was right now as she put on a coat.

"Amaru?" Iris gasped and held her chest. "Amaru! You startled me!" She whispered-yelled. She felt the magical creature's paw the coat, asking why she was getting dressed when it was the middle of the night. Iris debated on telling him for a moment, she took a deep breath. "I'll tell you if you promise not to tell the others."

There was silence. "Amaru? Are you still there?" Amaru started apologizing profusely, forgetting she was blind, everyone seemed to have a habit of doing that. Iris giggled "It's alright, I know this is the first time you've known a blind person. But I'll take that as a yes." Amaru made a sound, probably agreeing with her "I'm going to find Mephisto and Praxina." Amaru quietly screamed until he got picked up "I know I know! It's crazy and dangerous but-" she held on to her pendant "But every night during this time, my pendant vibrates. I'm worried that the twins are in trouble."

Amaru rubbed his head onto Iris's arm. "I highly doubt Taila and Auriana will help out, they'll probably say it's nothing." Amaru whined, Iris didn't understand what he meant by that. "Can you please just fly me around to try and find them? Just for one night…" Amaru was quiet for a little bit "Please…" Amaru sighed and jumped down, chirping at her to follow. Iris let out a small smile.

Amaru whined as they searched for at least an hour and a half. Iris patted the Pegasus "Just thirty more minutes, okay? Don't worry, I'll sneak you extra treats in the morning." Amaru loudly exhaled, but obliged. Iris's pendant vibrated again, Iris gasped "Amaru! My pendant! They must be around here somewhere!" Amaru flew faster, both of them determined to find the one or ones in need.

Iris's pendant vibrated more violently and the noise was louder, she felt the chain move to the left. "Amaru, go left!" As Amaru kept flying, the pendant kept going wild, until it stopped, Amaru stopped as well. "Amaru? What's wrong?" Amaru was quiet and landed. Iris then realized that someone was crying, she got off the Pegasus and felt away around the rock that made sure the person couldn't see them.

"Stupid, stupid stupid! I never should've joined in the first place…" Iris almost gasped, it was Mephisto! Amaru nudged Iris's face, asking her what to do. She patted his neck, telling him to go back to his small form. She felt Amaru rub on her leg, she lightly pushed him to go to Mephisto.

"Huh? Oh it's you, that weird purple thing that hangs around the princesses- hey wait! If you're here then!-" "Mephisto?" Iris stepped around the rock wall into his sight, she heard the wind around him and guessed he was flying again.

"Don't get any closer you filthy princess!" Mephisto shouted, which made Iris frown even more. "Where are your other friends? You're always around them." Iris fiddled with her necklace "It's just Amaru and I. The girls definitely wouldn't have looked with us." The wind died down and she heard Mephisto's shoes touch the ground.

"What do you mean?" His tone was suspicious. Iris took a deep breath "After that night, my pendant vibrates a lot during this time and we haven't seen you two in a month. I got…worried." Mephisto took a sharp breath, trying to not make it obvious he's surprised, although he did fail.

It was silent for a couple of minutes. "Are…" Iris started, voice cracking "Are you two okay?" Mephisto tried to stop himself, but he couldn't. He fell to his knees and sobbed. Iris and Amaru ran to him, Amaru rubbing his right arm while Iris, on his left, made circles on back. "No…Gramorr was furious and so was Banes." He took a shaky breath.

"He…he made us go to the dungeon…" Tears flowed but he was determined to tell Iris, Amaru got into Mephisto's lap and Mephisto put his hand on his head. Amaru made a mental note on how much the antagonist was shaking. "He physically beat us, then he used magic." Iris put her hand to her mouth in shock while Mephisto put her other hand on his back where Gramorr had hit him.

"Then he told Banes to…eat us." He took off his shirt and led Iris's hand to his still healing wounds, Amaru got out of his lap to look at well. "Thankfully it doesn't sting anymore, it's just numb. Banes has gotten a couple of bites on us." Iris gently touched his scars, they still felt fresh. "I was able to stop Banes from getting Praxina but after that…I passed out. I woke up on Earth and Praxina was gone." He broke down.

Iris crawled in front of him and slowly held him into her chest. He held onto her and sobbed until the sun came back up.
