Sira and Ferran were finally getting married after being together for seven years. For as long as Julia could remember, she and Sira had always been best friends, and for years, they had been inseparable. Julia always knew she would be the maid of honour at her wedding, just like she imagined Sira would be at hers. Julia flopped onto the queen-sized bed. She sighed. She was already in her hotel room. She was staying there for the wedding. It was lovely, with a beautiful view of the city. It had a small yet comfy living room, a flat-screened TV and a big bathroom.
Julia raised her eyebrow. "Why is it a double room?". She shook it off and turned on the TV. She took out the one suitcase of clothing she had packed and got her list of planned and necessary tasks out. As Julia settled into the hotel room, she couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and a hint of sadness. She was thrilled for her best friend, Sira, who was about to embark on a new chapter of her life with Ferran. However, Julia couldn't help but be reminded that their lives were inevitably changing, and things might not be the same as they had been all these years.
Meanwhile, Pedri got his key card from the front of the hotel and walked up the stairs. He needed some peace and quiet, so he was glad that Ferran suggested he stay at the hotel where the wedding would be held. He got to his room and was surprised at what he saw. Their eyes widened, and they spoke at the same time. "What are you doing in here? This is my room!"
"Maybe they got our rooms mixed up. Let's go downstairs," she said, storming out of the room with Pedri following right behind.
"How may I help you miss...?" the concierge asked.
"Julia Soler Gavira. I'm here because he got the same room key as me."
"I'll check, miss Gavira. Did you book the room?" the concierge asked.
"No, I didn't. My friend who is getting married actually booked for..." Julia's eyes widened when she came to a realization. "SIRA YOU BASTAR-"
Pedri quickly covered Julia's mouth with his hand. "Sorry, she didn't mean that," he said, flashing a fake smile at the concierge. "We'll just take care of it ourselves."
The concierge looked at them suspiciously but didn't say anything more. Julia glared at Pedri as they walked towards the elevator. "What was that for?" she asked, removing his hand from her mouth.
"You can't just go yelling like that," he said, his voice low. "We don't want to cause any problems."
Julia rolled her eyes. "Whatever, let's just go back to our room."
They both walked over to their room. Julia flopped onto the bed, staring up at the ceiling while Pedri went to take a shower. She couldn't believe Sira had booked them a room with one bed. It was like she was trying to push Pedri and her together. Julia shook her head, trying to get rid of the thought. Her eyes widened when she heard the bathroom door open. She sat up to see Pedri shirtless with only his sweatpants on. A blush crept on her face. Pedri was lean, but he had toned abs and broad shoulders. She looked at his face, and her cheeks got even redder. His hair was still wet, sticking to his forehead. He walked towards the bed and sat down with his back facing her. Even his back was toned.
"You will fall for me if you keep staring," he said, turning around, his smirk making her even more embarrassed.
"Just put a shirt on." she stammered, covering both her eyes, and she could hear him laughing.
"I sleep shirtless." he shrugged and went under the covers to fall asleep.
As the night wore on, both Pedri and Julia had trouble sleeping. They tossed and turned, their thoughts consumed with each other. They knew that tomorrow was the wedding rehearsal, and they needed to get some rest. But the excitement and nervousness of the upcoming event made it impossible. It wasn't until Pedri gently slipped his arms around her waist and moved closer to her that she felt comfortable. Her back pressed flat against his chest, creating a warm feeling that grew inside her. She slowly drifted to sleep, and his body warm against hers was the last thing she felt.
