Short story-3(chess to pass time)

(This was during special exam.)

Third person pov:-

Two figures were walking down a hallway.

"Our priority is to get as many as reward tickets as we can. We must try to chose an instructor who can give us  reward tickets."

"Don't worry katsuragi-san. We have already found a lot of them. Those defects are not a problem either. We will win this exam."

They were Katsuragi Kohei and Yahiko Totsuka.

"Don't drop your guard. Even if  they are from lower classes, there still might be some talented ones among them. If you are careless then you will have to pay. Sakayanagi's faction is growing slowly, we can't afford any mistake. Otherwise she will get a chance."

It's true. The power struggle within class A was growing intense day by day. In that case this special exam is going to play an important part in deciding which side the ship will tilt.

" She doesn't stand any chance against us. We win this exam and with that she will lose her leadership candidacy."

"I also hope so, Yahiko."

Then they met with there classmates and decided some strategy for exam. One of them was that before accepting any challenge they would have to consult with katsuragi.

It was so that they would not fall for enemy's trap.

Then another student approached him.

"How you doing, baldy?"

"Oi! How you dare talk to him like that?" yahiko became angry.

"Yahiko! Don't lose yourself to such provoking." Katsuragi said calmly.

"So, What do you want with me, Ryuen."

"Kuku nothing just wanna play some chess."

"Should I take it as you want to challenge me officially?" There were no rules forbidding you from playing without betting.

"Of course, I don't have fucking time to waste on you."

"You-!"

"Yahiko! Back off!" Katsuragi stopped yahiko who was losing it.

"Remember to leash your dog properly, katsuragi." Ryuen tried to provoke him again.

"If you have stopped your games, shall we move on. I'm not gonna bet against you, Ryuen."

"What? Scared?"

"No. I'm confident in chess. But I have just judged it risky to play against you." Katsuragi was being worry of Ryuen and his potential cheap trick.

"Oh? Then why don't we increase the reward."

"What do you mean?"

"I'll bet all my tickets if you are ready to compete."

"Hah! You are just stupid. You don't stand a chance against Katsuragi."

"Stop barking you dog. Why don't he prove it by beating me?"

Katsuragi was thinking that even if Ryuen tried to do something, school will find out since they were responsible for making sure that rules are followed correctly. In that case it would be good to just beat Ryuen and take some tickets. He was confident in chess.

"I'll accept it then but I have a condition, we will not change anything regarding the normal rules of chess and also no one else is allowed to help the one playing." Katsuragi made a clear judgement.

'Digging your own grave.' Ryuen thought.

"Okay then. I accept it." After that they went to instructor and started their match.

'Kukuku I have completed my part of deal X, now it's your time to reveal yourself. I will destroy you.' Ryuen thought again.

Apparently X, who happens to be Ayanokoji,  was the one who had asked him to do that.

Ayanokoji's main goal was to prevent class A leaders from communicating with their classmates.

This will affect them in some way, even if slightly.

But this would also create an opportunity for koenji to target class A without much problem.

All of this was just a backup if Koenji faced some problems. This was as also one of the reasons that koenji got so much tickets.

At the same time, one more chess match was going on.

"Sakayanagi-san, you have already figured it out that I'm just trying to waste your time right?"

"Yes, Shiina-san. To be honest I had already guessed what you were trying to do from start."

"Then why did you agreed to play?"

"I was just bored, nothing more." she replied.

Since katsuragi had taken responsibility for this exam, Sakayanagi had nothing to do.

She had already guessed that her class was getting targeted after hearing some information from Hashimoto, but she didn't took any action.

If they are to lose this exam then katsuragi's faction would fall. She will benefit the most from it.

"But still you are pretty good, shiina-san." Shiina was not even near her level, but if we compare her to general audience, shiina was certainly good.

"Well I learned it recently from a friend."

"So he taught you this much, in only some time. *chuckle* I would like play against that friend of yours then."
