"He wanted to send his brother away." Porsche announced when he came into the office where Pete was sitting. "I've heard." The latter answered but did not lift his gaze from the computer screen. "Maybe..." Porsche began. "Maybe we should go easy, his brother is young, he's just like Chay. He doesn't deserve that." Pete looked up at his friend. "Porsche, I'm not trying to frighten Macau, I'm not that cruel but Vegas, he needs to learn. My parents were scared when they died, not knowing if I would be next, did my parents deserve that?"

Porsche walked a few paces to his friend and stopped at the other end of the desk. "Stop, I'm not saying or suggesting that, I'm just saying that the kid doesn't deserve this either. You didn't deserve that as a child, so why do you do it to Macau?" Pete considered for a moment and sighed as he leaned back in his chair.
"Okay. Macau doesn't deserve this but Vegas and Macau are a package deal and I want my revenge, I want to avenge my parents. I have nothing against the kid, I hope he can have a good life after his brother kicks the bucket, Vegas is the one who is scared."

"You went after them when they were together in that restaurant, you knew he was there with the kid and you used that to your advantage."
The night before, Porsche and Pete had sat in front of the screen that showed the people we they scaring, it showed Vegas frantically walking back and forth in front of that restaurant and Pete felt good about himself, he wanted Vegas to suffer and this was working but still, he didn't mean to hurt Macau.

Pete again nodded at his friend. "I'll back down a little, on Macau, not on Vegas." Porsche scoffed. "And what then? You're just going to keep going?" Porsche asked.  "He's not an idiot Porsche, he was born into this, he knows how it works and if he wants to keep his brother with him even after knowing people are after him, that's his mistake. What do you propose? Just stop everything? Because I won't do that." Porsche shook his head. "No... no I won't tell you to stop, I understand what you're doing but the kid, leave him out of it. I'd kill everyone involved if anything happened to Chay and I'm sure Vegas will too but right now, he's afraid to even leave him at home. Macau only has Vegas."

For a moment, Pete didn't say anything. "But when I kill Vegas, Macau will be heartbroken, I know he will but that won't stop me from doing it and I think Vegas would gladly give his life up for him." He said, still leaning back in his chair as he held Porsche's gaze. "You will not bring that kid into this, this has nothing to do with him! You won't use him as bait!" Porsche yelled as he slammed his hands onto the desk in anger.

Pete just stood up and walked out, leaving the seething Porsche in his office while he went to my bedroom. He strolled to the adjacent bathroom and looked at himself in the mirror. Pete didn't see himself, there was just this shadow, a shadow that only wanted revenge and it made him sick. He reminded himself of Porsche, Chay, his parents and took a steadying breath as a drop of sweat ran down his forehead into his eyebrow.

"God." He breathed and splashed the cold water in his face. "Fuck." He hissed and again looked at himself. He didn't think there was anything left of the boy that lost his parents, the boy that lived with his grandmother until he turned 13 and went out on his own.

He was not Porsche's friend, not like he should be and he knows revenge is taking over every thought in his head.

Pete POV

I need to make sure Vegas pays for what his father did but maybe, maybe I should go a little easy. I'll wait, I'll give him a while to breathe. Again, I don't hate Vegas but he has done terrible things, just like his father... just like me. But me, I did it for my parents, not because I want power or because I want money, I just want to make sure my parents have a little peace, that I myself have a little peace of mind.

I want to be able to sleep at night, without seeing the faces of my parents in front of me full of horror and worry because of what that person did, I want to be able to take care of Porsche and Porchay because they are my family now and I'm pushing them away.
I should apologise, I should make it right.
