"hello my love," peggy walked into our shared bedroom and kissed the top of my head. "hi", i mumbled, trying to focus on a mission report.

"you've been working non-stop all day, baby. you need to take a break", she told me wrapping her arms around me. i softy unwrapped her arms from me and pressed a kiss to her hand, "sorry peggs. i can't", i mumbled again.

she kissed my cheek and i rested my head on her chest, pulling my laptop onto my lap so i could continue working. i heard peggy's breathing even out so i know she was asleep.

if i was being honest, i haven't and wasn't planning to sleep anytime soon. i keep getting these horrible nightmares from the war and going into the ice. i've been meaning to go to a support group steve requested as he says it helps him but i've just been too busy with work.

after a few hours, peggy began to wake up, "love, are you still working? it's 2am for goddess sake!" i just simply nodded and continued working.

after a few minutes, peggy began to tug on my sleeve, "darling, you're going to overwork yourself." i bit my lip nervously, "i'll be okay, go back to sleep peggs." peggy sat up and turned on our lamp, "nightmares?"

i sighed knowing i couldn't get out of this one, "how did you know?" she took my hands into her own, "steve and bucky get nightmares too, it makes sense you'd get them as well." tears slipped down my face, "peggy i'm scared." she wiped my tears with her thumbs and placed her hands on my cheeks.

"there's no reason to be afraid my dear, i'm here for you and i'm not leaving if you have a nightmare we'll get through it together," she spoke softly smiling down at me. she reached over to grab my laptop and place it down on the floor next to her.

kissing my head, i leaned into her embrace. i lay my head on her chest and she sang to me as i drifted asleep.
