Sheer Cold [Ranger!Reader x Ice]

I violently shuddered against the harsh wind that rushed past me, closing my eyes and rubbing my arms faster as I struggled to walk in the storm.

'You should probably wear at least a coat...this time of year the Hia Valley isn't the most...comfortable place to be,' echoed in my head. Damn Keith and damn this storm. I didn't have time to run home and change anyways; Pokemon were injured in this snowstorm and I'll help them before I help myself.

I could barely see five feet ahead of me, the snow blinded me so much, and the cold winds nipped at my bare skin. The thin clothes I had to wear didn't help anything. I could feel my nose and ears ache from the cold, which started to give me a headache, and everything else felt numb. Did I still have fingers?

There was no way I was getting out of this. I couldn't tell how far I've gone or even if I'm going in the right direction. The only thing I could do was march on...

"Hey, wake up."

"...Ngh..."

I opened my apparently closed eyes and squinted at the light. My head pounded and I felt numb everywhere else. I couldn't feel my limbs as I shifted and moved into a sitting up position. I also didn't feel the coat that was apparently draped over me. "Wha...?"

"That wasn't exactly a smart thing to do. It doesn't surprise me though. After all, you are a noob," a voice said. I looked up after a quickly adjusted to the light to see a familiar blue haired boy sitting at the table that was on the other side of the room.

"Ice?" He didn't look much different than when I saw him last, around when Team Dim Sun was taken apart. He still had the same blue, spiked hair, blue eyes, and wardrobe. Well, except he wasn't wearing his coat, which I noticed later was the coat that was on me.

"____-noob," the boy replied, just like old times.

"What are you doing here? What happened?" I was confused. Wasn't I in Hia Valley?

"You passed out in the snow," Ice replied. "So I brought you here and saved you. You're welcome."

I looked around, noticing that we were in one of the huts that Shiver Camp had set up. Except it was warmer than I remember. Didn't they say their heaters were broken from the constant snowstorms recently?

"Isn't this Shiver Camp? I don't think you'd be allowed in here," I said.

"I fixed their heaters; they're cool with me staying," The boy in blue stood from his seat, carrying a cup that was on the table. "Here," He said, holding it out to me.

"What is it?" I asked before taking the cup.

"You ask a lot of questions. Were you always this way?" Ice responded, still holding the cup out to me. "It's hot chocolate, just drink it."

I took it and stared into the liquid to make sure if that's what it really was. I gave him my thanks and sipped it, careful not to burn myself.

"So you have enough intelligence in that tiny brain of yours to take down an evil organization, but not enough to put a coat on during a snowstorm?" He said, going back to his seat. "What were you even trying to do besides freeze your ass off?"

"I was in a hurry, okay? There were Pokemon injured out there! Speaking of which, I should really get going so I can help them!" I said, standing up holding both the cup and Ice's coat. I placed the cup on the table and tried to give him his coat back, but he wasn't making a move to take it back.

"Chill, chill, they're alright." Ice informed me. "A group of the guys here went out and brought them back. They're in one of the tents now."

"Really?" Should I believe this guy? I mean he's the leader of the infamous Sinis Trio. Or was.

"Oh, I see how it is. You don't trust me. Well then come on." He stood up and led me outside of the tent we were in, and to the tent that was next to ours on the left. The door slid open and multiple Shiver Camp members were tending to injured Pokemon of all kinds, using all kinds of potions and ice heals. I let out a sigh of relief, thankful that they were alright. I guess this was a mission clear!
