Ever since that one Oni, she had not been encountered again by anyone or anything that triggered a battle sequence. Or by anyone to begin with.
As she shivered, walking through the cold, she almost wishes she would; surely a fight would be better than this mind-numbing, aimless walk to nowhere.
Chara's teeth clattered as she stumbled in the snow, half-lidded eyes barely widening in shock. She was too cold, too numb to do much to prevent her fall.
Face-first into more snow.
....
She was even colder, now.
But she pushed herself up. She had to keep going. She had to get to somewhere, some town or village, where she could find somewhere to stay. Somewhere to spend her gold, somewhere to get armor or better weapons, somewhere to eat.
Red pulsed in her vision, and she knew that her DETERMINATION was the only thing keeping her alive at this point. It was far too cold, and she was wearing far too little, to survive right now. Only sheer willpower kept her going.
But there was a point where the body fails the SOUL.
No....
Her arms shook until they gave out, and she was back in the snow.
