The Illegitimate Prince

Lyra/Yanna POV

It's been a month since I became the personal maid of Princess Lucia, and here I am, doing the household chores for her sake.

I can't imagine how much the princess suffered from them.

They only gave her what was left for the meals, most of the time , a bread that's about to spoil. She makes her own bath, laundry, and even cleans her own room.

I want to tear them into pieces, I will make sure those bastards will suffer more than the princess had.

Since I can't do anything to the household staff, I just use magic to serve the princess well.

They often ask me why I treat the princess nicely, I just told them that Headmaid assigned me to serve the princess.

They will laugh and sometimes, bullied me for taking care of the princess.

What pisses me off the most, I always bow to the bastards who made the princess suffer.

" Have you heard, an illegitimate son of the Emperor shows up at the palace. He's about 8 years old"

I heard Shiela, the maid, gossiping in the hallway of the mansion. I was about to go to the princess room when I heard her. I hide myself and listen to them.

"Yes, I heard he's a son of a maid" Anna said

"The rumor also said that the illegitimate son of the Emperor looks exactly like the Grand father of the Emperor"

Is she talking about Maximilian? He has unbelievable Magic. He's one of the students of Master Alcina.

I wonder if that illegitimate prince holds Maximilian's magic as well, I should check that later.

I left the gossiping maids as they started to change their topic.

"Princess, would you like to see the festival tomorrow?"

The princess looks excited

" Can I do that?" She asked Lyra with sparkling eyes

" Of course you can, we will go out in disguise so no one will recognize us"

The princess looks happy

" But before that, finish your assignment"

" I will"

Lyra becomes her tutor as well since the Duchy didn't bother to hire one for her.

During Lyra's stay in the Duchy, she collects evidence against the household staff.  Embezzlement of the family's wealth and who's behind these schemes.

"If only I can take action according to my will, those bastards won't be able to laugh at us again." Lyra thought.

At night, she visits the palace in disguise wearing a black cloak. She's looking for the illegitimate prince. Then notice a boy with black hair and crystal blue eyes. She smirks and hides herself.

He really looks exactly like Maximilian, black hair and crystal blue eyes, different from the royal family's blonde hair and golden brown eyes.

Maximilian Fulgentius La Fuerte, son of the former Emperor and the right hand magician of Alcina. He was the 2nd prince of the empire. He looks different from the royals as his black hair was from her mother and his crystal blue eyes were from the ancestor of the royal family, the one who brought the empire to victory. Crystal blue eyes from the royals are very rare, only with the purest mana of a royal blood will inherit those eyes. And true to the history, he brings victory to the empire, but he never wanted the throne. Although his brother, the crown prince became the next emperor, the people of the empire acknowledged Maximilian more than his brother.

His brother, the emperor, never had a son, only daughters which will never be the next emperor since it was written to the laws of the empire. While Maximilian had a son, he didn't inherit his magic. The Emperor got jealous and greedy. He poisoned Maximilian and his wife and adopted his son. The news spread that after giving birth,both wife and child died so Maximilian took his own life. The emperor concubine gives birth to a son.

When the adopted son turns 16, the truth reveals to the public, the emperor was dethroned and executed while Maximilian's son rises to the throne.

"Show yourself, why are you following me" The illegitimate prince asked facing his back to her.

She came out where she hides.

He turns around and looks at her

"Are you an assassin?"

She was surprised, then smirk

"What if I am?" She teased

The prince is quick to respond and attack her. His fist is burning in blue fire and bolts.

But she easily stops it with her two fingers.

The prince was surprised as his magic also disappeared that instant.

She chuckles

"Kid, you're too young to beat me" she smirks

He steps back but then pulled by her when she feels that someone is approaching. They hide to see who's coming.

Men in a black clothes revealing only their eyes that look like assassins appear in front of the palace, where the child she's holding is staying.

They are about to enter the palace.

"As I thought, you're not safe here, kid" she whispered.

"Hide here, I'll be back, never show yourself"

"I can beat-" she glares at him , he gets scared and just nods. She smiled at him and left.

A few minutes later, he saw the assassins leave the palace.

"All done" he shrieks as she suddenly appears beside him

"What did you do?"

Before she answered, the palace was set on fire.

"I made a dummy you, and they kill you before burning down the palace" she explained while they were watching how the palace was burning down.

She scratches her head

"Ahhh, This is so annoying"

He looks at her

"Come with me, they should never find that you're alive"

And they disappear.
