It had been two days since what had happened in the club and to say that I wanted to die was an understatement. Nicolas hasn't stepped foot in the estate ever since our morning blowout days ago as far as I knew. And as much as I liked the space, it irritated me to know that we had unfinished business. Actually, we've had unfinished business ever since I threw that damn heel at him.

I stepped out of the estate and headed slowly towards the blooming garden. The weather was pretty nice today yet there was not a single strand of sunlight present since the thick clouds seemed to cover the whole of the sky.

I entered the maze, looking at the newly blossoming roses, some of which were in the darkest shade of crimson. I was mesmerised by the length of this maze and the number of roses that are grown here each year.

It made me wonder how much time the family has spent running around the maze or even walking here each summer the flowers bloom. I wondered if Nicolas liked this place. Then I slapped myself internally from thinking about him.

Growing up, or more specifically before my parents were murdered, gardening and nature were what made me happy. Daily walks, planting berries or flowers as well as many other activities made my early years.

After they passed, the happiness dug itself a hole and became buried deep within me. Each time I visited a garden or even helped Natalia in the backyard of her house, I did so with complete force within my conscience. I didn't want to look at things or even more so do anything that reminded me of my parents. They left an empty hole in my life and thus took so much of what made me happy with them.

I promised Natalia that I would never bother and go down memory lane to have an investigation done on the incident after it was ruled as an accident. It was anything but that. At least it was what I believed in.

Yet it's been fourteen years since it happened and I have yet to dig into the details of the incident. But I knew that there would come a day when I would make myself figure out the truth and let my parents rest in justice.

Just as I reached what looked like the middle of the maze, I felt a drop of rain fall on my forehead. I looked up, feeling more drops fall which made me slowly head back towards the estate. I knew the place I wanted to see during the rain and I knew very well that it should be unoccupied.

I hurried past the hallways until I reached the greenhouse just as the rain began to fall much faster. I closed the double glass doors carefully behind me and turned around to face the true beauty of the room.

I smiled as I stepped forward, looking up at the roof and seeing the water droplets hit the glass. They made a calming sound as they hit the surface and sent shivers down my spine. I sat down on one of the metal chairs as I took in the humid air and tranquil view before me.

There were multiple vines growing on the windows, some of which had roses blooming on them. Their colour was much lighter in comparison to the roses on the outside. Small water drops sat on some of the petals and one dripped down onto the ground, right into a small puddle that had appeared after some time.
