Eyes burn as I lie awake,
My back curls as I sigh and wait,
Time zips by but numb I stay,
It's warm outside, yet I'm freezing all day.
Gusts of winds come bursting,
Into my anxious, thumping heart.
A wild hurricane emerges, yet it makes no sound.
I struggle to be at peace,
As my sanity bleeds away.
