Elle returned from the break room with a pitcher and cup on a tray, placing it down on the nearby table as she turned to focus her attention on her patient. Mr. L/N it seemed had not moved at all in the time that she was away; his back was still facing her, and he was curled up in a ball holding his blanket tightly. He did not even acknowledge her. "Hey..." Leigh whispered going over to him and placing a hand on his shoulder. She felt the muscle tense as she did, and she respectfully withdrew her hand back. She did not need him to talk, and she really shouldn't linger physically. She then turned back to the pitcher and poured a glass before placing it on the bedside table "here is some water when you need it..." she told him before takin a deep breath. "Mr. L/N. I understand that you are in pain right now, but I will need to ask you some questions and examine you to make sure that you can be cleared for the time being. Elle was trying to be polite due to the circumstances, but there are times like this that a patient could get angry quickly not that she could blame him. But she had a job to do, and nothing was going to stop her from doing so. If Mr. L/N was willing, then he can go back to moping once she completed her examination.

Said patient just glanced at his nurse, a dead book in his eye. It did not seem like he'd had even heard the blonde-haired nurse but after a pregnant pause, he nodded. "What would you like to know?" he muttered morosely. Elle approached her patient, and gently placed a hand on the blanket covering him, I'll need to move this," she stated staring directly into his eyes with a knowing look. Mr. L/N nodded, and I'll gently move the blanket down careful not to irritate her patient. She gulped partially because even though she knew he was not as hurt as he should have been in that accident it's still took her by surprise the things that could happen, that she could see. Of course, there wasn't anything other than the hospital gown covering his torso, but she could see hints of scars from the accident on his arms likely small cuts from glass that shattered as a result of the collision; had she removed the gown there would be more, but now wasn't the time for that. Mr. L/N's breath hitched as Elle finished removing the blanket, showing his legs, which were bruised from being crushed between the sheet and the steering wheel Elle noted this wondering if even the slightest. She gently placed a hand on the bruise. "Does it hurt when I do this?" she asked, not putting any pressure on the contusion. But lightly just to make sure even the slightest contact was ok. Mr. L/N hissed in pain and Elle drew her hand back, before jotting down some notes. Before looking back at her patient

"Does it hurt to move?" she asked though given that it hurt just to touch the bruise, she more than answered her own question. Still, she had to note everything. Mr. L/N Nodded "Can I have the blanket back?" he asked flatly, though politely. He didn't need to make his nurse feel bad for doing her job, despite the circumstances. He was angry but throwing that into his nurse's face wasn't going to help him here. He just wanted to leave the hospital as soon as possible.

Elle gave him a small Smile, before gently moving the blanket back up Mr. L/N body. she hugged her clipboard to her chest. "You may not remember this, but someone did bring you to the hospital" Elle looked at the paperwork for her patient "Ms. Leigh Shaw. I'm going to let her know that you are awake." In a quieter voice she said, "if you need to reach out to me, for any reason take this." She handed him a slip of paper. When he didn't take it, she simply placed it on his bedside table "I can't say anything that will help truly Mr. L/N... but I hope you find peace." She said before walking out of the room, returning to the nurse's station.

She placed her notes on the table before resting her elbows on the table letting out a sigh before rubbing her face, as if to wipe away the exhaustion, before her thoughts drifted to her son. Sam wasn't much older than what Mr. L/N's son might have been before today (she hadn't had any time to check the news about this for accuracy). She had been a nurse for many years now but this was the first time and she could never admit this, but this case, her patient, it almost felt personal. Watching Mr. L/N come in. she almost saw her husband come in. her worst fear come to life, made worse by the fact the man had lost his whole family Elle didn't quite have to worry about Ford losing Sam on tour, unless Sam wanted to follow his fathers footsteps. The thought made Elle shudder involuntarily, before she placed her hands on the table trying to regain her composure. The last thing she needed was for someone to notice her demeanor.
