Y/N entered the grief counseling center noting that there were not a whole lot of people here maybe a dozen or so, and naturally he didn't know anyone here, but his eyes soon spotted a familiar head of brown hair. Leigh Shaw. She was dressed in a green sweater, a grey shirt and blue jeans. She hadn't noticed him as she was busy helping set up the chairs before helping herself to a donut. He gulped, his mouth suddenly feeling dry. She was the reason he had come here after all. He just didn't know what to say to her. She had brought him here to help him begin the healing process. There was just one flaw to her plan. He didn't want to talk about his wife or his son. It hurt too much to accept that he'd never be able to hold Erin in his arms again or see his son grow into a young man with a family of his own. Leigh had already started that journey. He just wasn't ready to do the same; he needed to leave. He turned away ready to walk out the door when he heard a voice call out to him. "Hello there sir!" an older woman was approaching him, evidently having spotted him come through the door.

At first glance she seemed like a kind older woman, not enough to be middle aged but she looked older than him at the very least. Considering he wasn't even 30 yet that wasn't hard to do, but that seemed irrelevant at the moment. "My name is Claire, I run the counseling here. I haven't seen you here before. Were you referred by one of my clients?" she asked.

Y/N bit his lip not wanting to answer the question, bur he had no reason to be rude or lie so he nodded, "Yes, by a miss Leigh Shaw." It was the first time he said Leighs name and it sounded weird on his tongue and yet, it felt nice to say, almost thrilling. Claires eyes lit up for a moment in recognition "Yes Leigh, she's been here consistently for some time." It looked like she wanted to say more but as a consular she was bound by her oath to not reveal to others the treatments of her patients plus, Y/N was a stranger to Claire. Besides while Leigh had been involved in his accident, he would rather know the reason for her bring here, coming from the woman herself.

"I'm sure shed be happy to see you." Y/N chuckled at the irony of being HAPPY at a grief group. But she did have a point, at least he had good company. Claire looked towards Leigh "Leigh!" she called waving to get the other girls' attention. Leigh almost dropped the donut she had been munching on and turned to face Claire and her eyes widened when she saw Y/N next to her therapist. Her thoughts returned to what had happened earlier that day and she tried to stop the heat from rising in her cheeks as she walked up to him "Y/...Y/N..." she whispered as she stood before him "I'm glad you could make it." She said, a small smile reaching her lips. Why was she suddenly feeling this way?

Despite himself, Y/n returned the smile though it wasn't quite a happy one; Leigh knew very well he was faking it, but she appreciated the effort and understood where he was coming from. However, he didn't say anything and just nodded.

Claire seemed to notice the tension between the two and decided to ease it by calling the meeting to start. The trio made their way to empty chairs and sat down. Claire as always began the talk "hello everyone, I'm so glad that you could make it this evening." Y/N noted that despite her words her tone was soft as if trying to not be overly optimistic, since everyone was still healing "I see we have a new face with us today. She looked right at Y/N and in unison everyone, even Leigh who was sitting right next to him, looked at him. Unable to take the number of gazes on him, Y/N found himself looking at his lap. A lump formed in his throat, and he gulped the words caught in this mind and unable to leave. He felt a hand on his shoulder giving it a reassuring squeeze. Y/N briefly turned to look at Leigh before returning his gaze to his lap. "My name is Y/N..." he began quietly, his voice so low that even Leigh had a hard time hearing it "I'm here because..." he stopped as the lump returned, and tears began to form in his eyes. The screams of his wife and son began to echo in is mind along with the hurtful words. He couldn't say it. He wouldn't. Before it could even register what he did, he stood up from the chair and stomped his way out the door, trying to prevent the dam from bursting. He opened the door and was greeted by the cold winter wind. It tore through him like a knife in his skin. Despite the frigidity, he ignored it and began walking to the nearest bus stop intending to find the nearest hotel so he could get some sleep and escape his wretched reality.
