Toto and I walked through the long hallway
"So, how was your first day sight seeing?" He leaned his head to the side
"Great, I walked all over town and did some shopping, I ate a sandwich and pie later in the day, which isn't really my thing but okay." I told him
"That sounds like fun, what did you buy?"I felt bold and did a little twirl mid walk, on heels with I can't walk on and nailed it. I couldn't be more proud of myself.
"I saw it hanging in the window and it looked powerful and pretty obviously." I smiled and looked up at Toto to see his eyes lingering on the suit, his smile gone. He extended his hand and felt at the bottom of the material from the jacket.
"It is very.... pretty, like you said. It looks very sophisticated as well." Toto grinned "Let me show you my office, have our interview and then I will show you around this madhouse." He winked and led me towards his officeI thought it would be this huge glass room with a gigantic desk but it was a tad smaller. There were trophies in his closet of his own racing back in the day and pictures with Lewis and Valtteri, and even one with Nico. There were two leather seats near the window, reminding me of the airport. Toto closed the door behind us and grabbed his phone and iPad from his desk and sat down on one of the chairs.
"Is it okay for you to sit here? I am stuck behind that desk for the rest of the week I'm afraid."
"Yes, no of course. The desk is giving me principal vibes anyway." I laughed and sat down on the chair
"Well, I am a principal after all." He had that grin on his face again "Did you get into trouble a lot?" He asked
"Yes of course! and maybe a little, I am very.... let's say, serious and hardworking but I can be a little sarcastic and straightforward. My teachers saw that as disrespectful, but when I know the answer to a question and the teacher doesn't, I have this need to put them in their place." I laughed
"Ah I see, well, take it easy on me okay. I might punish a little harder than your high school principal." He grinned and opened his iPadSir, if you don't stop.
"First of all, thank you for being here, your application was very promising and intriguing. While you don't have a lot of experience and you are pretty young, you have the heart for motorsport and I would like to know more." He placed his iPad on one knee and placed one hand on the other, those hands
"Thank you for having me of course, and yes I am younger that the average personal assistant but I have been traveling for years now and I used to travel for racing when I was little. I have experience in being away from home and adapting quickly in different situations."
"You raced for your fathers team, Pierce karts, why did you quit?" Toto asked
"Uhm... well, I. Sorry." I flustered a bit, hating to tell the story of my brother"I have a brother and we started racing together when we were about four and we were actually really good. When we were eight, we were competing and winning and my father chose to start our own team and took a step down from his work so he could travel with us. We raced with Max Verstappen for a while, I won a couple of times from him actually." I smiled at the memory
"When we started to become race winners more often, my brother Jace got asked to join the junior program at Red Bull but my mother wasn't a big fan of the fact they only wanted Jace. My father discussed the option for my to join them as well but back in the day it was pretty weird to be a girl on the podium." I looked outside for a second, enjoying the view
"My brother said to Red Bull we were a package deal, they gracefully declined that deal. I felt like shit to be honest, I was beating drivers that are now racing in formula three and two and even in formula one. My father got us very far in the karting world, but then we were at the track in Italy at a race in the WSK Euro Series and it was raining very heavily. The organisation wanted us to race but the teams were reluctant, but it obviously costs a lot of money so we went out on track. my brother qualified tenth and I qualified fourth. My brother had a great start but it was very slippery and you could hardly see a thing... some idiot on the twelfth place thought he could brake late and drift through the corner. His kart slipped, obviously, and went into my brothers kart with full speed. The water on the track made it such a slippery slide that my brothers kart came loose from the ground and flipped him a couple of times into the tire barrier. His legs came loose and got stuck between the kart and the barrier, he lost the ability to walk because of it." I sighed "My dad made me quit and sold everything related to mp motorsports."
