MiaGipson here you go, friend. I'm not sure how this will go, but I will try my best with what I can. I hope you enjoy what I manage to scrape together.
"Mom, why do I have to hang out with her?" Kelly asked, whining to her annoyed mother.
Donna rolled her eyes, releasing a frustrated sigh as she placed down a tray filled with snacks. "Because I said so, so stop trying to fight with me and get ready. "
"But we aren't going to be doing anything, she can't even talk at all, Mom. What are we even going to do the whole time, just sit here and stare at each other."
"Well if that's what she wants to do then that is what you girls will do!" Donna yelled, causing Kelly to flinch back. Donna sighed, trying to calm herself before speaking again. "Look, I already set up this playdate and it is way too late to cancel. Please just give it a try and be nice to her. You never know, maybe you'll make a new friend today."
Kelly wanted to argue with her mother further but she kept her mouth shut; she didn't want to anger her mother any further. With no other choice but to give up, Kelly turned around and stormed upstairs to her room, the eight-year-old dramatically stomping on each step she stepped foot on.
Once Kelly arrived in her room she ran to her bed, tears filling her eyes. She slammed her head into her pillow and screamed dramatically. She had done this for a good minute, stopping just to take a breath.
Kelly raised her head from her pillow and sat up on her bed. She held her pillow to her chest and squeezed it tightly as she stared angrily at the wall. As Kelly looked at the wall she thought about the course of events that led her to the predicament she is now.
There was a young girl who had recently moved into Kelly's neighborhood. She hadn't officially met the girl until the day she showed up at her church, which was the day Kelly's mother decided to set up a playdate between the two girls.
Of course, Kelly objected to the playdate; she didn't even like the girl nor did she know her. The only thing she knew about the girl was she didn't speak, which only made the girl's interactions awkward.
Kelly remembers being forced to be buddies with the girl; she couldn't even play with her real friends that day because she had to be near the girl at all times. Kelly tried to make the best of it. She tried to talk and play games with her, unfortunately, the only response she got from the girl was a blank stare.
Eventually, Kelly got sick of doing nothing but watching her friends play and told the girl that she was going to the playground. Not caring about the girl's feelings, Kelly told the girl to stay where she was and not follow her. She claimed that she didn't want to be seen with her nor did want to be bothered with her anymore.
Unfortunately, the girl didn't listen to Kelly; she ended up following the girl when she tried to leave. To get rid of the girl, Kelly decided to lie to her. Kelly convinced the girl to play a game of hide and seek. She simply told the girl to go hide and that she would seek her after counting to ten.
Kelly didn't even wait to see the girl's response; she just left her once again and ran to her friends. Kelly doesn't know what happened to the girl after she left her; she didn't even care about her once she joined her friends. The only thing Kelly cared about was playing with her friends, which was what she should be doing right now instead of waiting for the girl to arrive at her house.
Now Kelly wished that she didn't leave the girl, maybe the girl wouldn't have gone missing after that. Eventually, the girl was found hiding in the broom closet. The girl's mother was upset; she was mostly scared because she thought she had lost her daughter. Kelly watched as the girl's mother yelled at her for going missing. The whole time the girl just stood there looking at her mother with a look of fear, sadness, and confusion on her face.
