"guys wanna check out the forest. I heard the freak summoned some monster out there. I wanna see if it's real." I told my brothers as we were walking home. I swear Mason rolled his eyes when I said it.
"You were always scared of that dumb forest. You never would go near it! Now you WANT to be there?" He asked. I could here Jason sigh as Mason talked.
"Fine Noah. We will go. Be aware if it is real, one of us could die. I heard the kids talking about it too."
"YES JASON IS IN! COME ON MASON! YOU HAVE TO GO NOW!" Mason was definitely coming too. Even though he was younger than Jason he would always be the one protecting us.
* * *
We were in the dark forest. I could see the nearby lake and the school. We continued walking until we came to a clearing.
"Guys... I'm gonna puke" Mason pointed at something. The thing was a dead body. It was a girl older than all of us. She had dirty blond hair with a bit dyed a purple color. She wore a sort of uniform none of us recognized. Jason immediately ran up to her. Her chest was opened up. Dried blood everywhere. Mason of course was looking away.
"She has an FCS name tag. Her name was Lilac. Lilac Johnson... she was a 'researcher'" Her last name is what rubbed us all the wrong way. Johnson is the last name of Nadia and Azrael. Was she related to them somehow? Then a loud roar came from the lake.
"Who is going to check that out? NOT IT" I said.
"NOT IT". Jason yelled out. That meant Mason was going to check it out.
