Chapter eight

Margaret Hale POV

I was walking with Aemond and Allison and Lydia. "Allison, when you said you needed to stop for an errand before we went shopping, a five-mile hike in the woods was not what I was expecting!" Lydia said. 

"Before I forget, Allie wanted to ask if you're okay with something." Aemond said. "Jackson asked Allie to the winter formal. I already asked Margie." Aemond said as he smirked at me. I smiled. 

"Did he?" Lydia asked. "Yeah. Just as friends. But I just wanted to make sure you're okay with it first." Allie said. "Sure. As long as it's just friends." She said. 

"Well, yeah, I mean it's not like I would take him to the coach's office duing lacrosse pratice and make out with him or anything!" Allie said. "Um... About that..."

Aemond slid a thing on the tip of his knife. "What does that do?" I asked. "That's what we're about to find out."

He threw the knife and it created a bright light. Allie stared at it. "What the hell was that?"

"I don't know." She said. 

"Well, that was fun. Any more lethal weapons you wanna try out?" Lydia asked. We heard a stick crack. "Stay here." Aemond told us. 

I was at Scott's house. "Margie can you get the door?" 

"YEAH!" I opened the door and froze. "Hello there."

"W-W-What are you doing here?" I stuttered. "To see his mother. Speaking of, how is your mother?" He asked. I felt like crying. "Oh. She's gone? Waht happened?" He asked. 

"Kate. Her and her family killed her because she was in the house fire." I said. Peter nodded. 

"I'll avenge her. I promise." I nodded. "Do you know him, Margie?" Melissa asked. "Yeah. Family friend." I said. She nodded. Peter glanced at me. 

I got to the house my mother died in. I got there with Aemond. We got there. "GET DOWN!" Aemond yelled as he grabbed me. 

Suddenly automic gunfire hit all around us. 

A bullet hit Scott. "SCOTT! GO!" Dad yelled. 

Aemond grabbed him and we ran for it.
