"Be careful!" The kids cry as they cling onto Emma, Ray, and I. I sweatdrop, trying to get out of their grasp as Emma and Ray reassure them that we'll come back safely. The kids are scolding Emma and Ray, telling them not to overwork themselves and to tell someone if they get injured.
"Sir, let me tell you something," Gilda states, in a cold tone. "Make sure you bring the three of them home safely."
"Gilda..." I mumble.
"I know that this is a dangerous journey, even for you. And there might be accidents that can't be avoided. I know, that's why even if something happens and you decide to come back halfway through the journey, I need at least two of them to definitely come back alive."
"Are you asking for a favor?" The hag scoffs. "If so, I have no reason to comply."
"No, I'm stating my intention," She declares. "If the three of them don't come back alive, I'll blow up the shelter." Holy Barbatos on a dragon.
"Gilda!" Emma exclaims. Gilda comes up and hugs us.
"You three better come back alive. I won't forgive you if even one of you doesn't come back." She threatens us, causing me to giggle.
"We'll be ok," I reassure her. "Nothing can kill me!"
"This is killing me." I groan as we run full speed across the wasteland.
"Good, die." The hag shouts back from ahead of us.
"God, he's like a child at heart." Ray rolls his eyes and I chuckle.
"If Gilda's words had an effect on the geezer, who would kill one of us instead of all three of us." Ray whispers to us.
"Yeah, I think he'll just let us die instead of killing us himself though." Emma mutters. I nod in agreement, he doesn't have the mental will to kill us.
The three of us pant as we try and catch our breath, having finally reached our destination.
"Thank the Archons we're finally here." I pant out. I have a lot of stamina due to training, but I hate running more than anything.
"We got out of the wasteland faster than expected. Not bad," The hag praises us, making me stand up straighter. "We're going to aim to reach our destination in four days. There's a detour that is somewhat safe but it takes three weeks to get there," He explains to us. "But I don't want that, so we're not going that way." He adds, causing me to groan. Emma looks at me sympathetically and pats my back.
"I think he's gone crazy." I mumble to her, causing her to giggle.
Walking through the forest, I admire the view. I have never really been through this part of the forest, so it's a new experience for me.
"These trees are like melting candles..." I mumble, looking around at them. I hear Emma hum in agreement as we continue walking through the forest.
"There are a bunch of man eaters in this forest," The hag explains. I suppose he means demons. "They're wild, but form packs. At least, the ones here do. They always move together and watch out for each other." They're like a family... that's cute.
"And all the species are violent," Not so cute. "Which means if they find you, you're dead meat to them. They'll call the other ones and corner you before eating you down to the bone." At least they love each other...?
"The only way to survive once they find you is by killing them, but that's not something you weaklings can handle." I don't know if Emma and Ray would be able to handle it, but I would. I know where the Demon's weak spots are. You don't spend almost six months with two demons and not know anything about them. I feel something behind us and use elemental sight to see if it was a demon. Luckily, it isn't. It's just some type of animal. Regardless, I pull out my polearm and strike at it. We're running low on food anyways.
