Stand On

I spent the next weeks training in the arena. The king ordered all the guards to be trained well because of the attacks near east of the providence.

I gave a smart guess that the attacks are from the Orphans house near the Physicians Hospital, but the attacks were in fact from the kingdom of Nevernia.

Prince Ash was showing all of us a new way to hold the sword and how to subsidize the enemy.

I practiced my sword training with Fink. He had good skill in sword fighting that I didn't even have a chance yet to beat him in sword fighting.

After hours of training all of us went to the Rest Kitchen.

Surprisingly the Prince eat with us. It was know to be improper for a member of the royal family to eat with lower class guards.

I took my plate and put some mash potatoes that Miss Kitten made for us and sat next to Ash. I didn't try to make eye contact, because no one knew about our new friendship.

Everyday he came to my dorm and talk to me. It felt really strange to have a friend like him, and that he sneaks at the middle of the night to do that.

He always says that he doesn't sleep much. He have been researching in the royal libraries to find any evidence of my heritage.

According to one of the books he found, People from Nevernia had unusual green eyes and a birth mark of an x. It turned out that I do have a birth mark of an X on my bottom left foot. He is still trying to find more facts, but he was definitely sure I am not form the providence.

While Armin was chatting with the prince about how he and Maroon used to know each other since forever, I went to Miss Kitten to get a gulp of water, but then an attack happened. I dropped my cup and shield my sword.

A guard had his sword around Ash's neck. The guard's name is Zain. We all stared at Zain while he chocked on Ash's neck.

Ash didn't make a move. He kept looking at me the whole time, giving me eye contact.

Suddenly he punched Zain in the stomach and took his sword. He held the sword towards Zain throat.

'What claims you to attack a member of the royal family"

He did not answer.

"Speak"

He's chocking.

"SPEAK!"

"I-"chocked Zain

Ash released him.

He coughed and gowned on the wooden floor. He then stood from his feet and stood in front of the prince with fierce eyes.

"You know why I tried to kill you, YOU KNOW WHY!!" he screamed.

"Because people like you my lord, your HIGHNESS, killed my mother, sister, and my whole ENTIRE FAMILY!!"

Ash stared at him with dark fear.

"People like you deserve to die, to suffer like the rest of us all suffered!"

He then stared at all of us. "Look at us men, our hands are covered in cold blood, killing our own people for a worthless king that has no mercy toward our SUFFER!"

"Listen, I understand that you suffered, everyone of you all suffered "said Ash

He then stared at me.

"But everything has its time"

"What do you mean everything has its time?, Its time for one of us to get ahold of this Monarch, and let our people not live in fear" I said.

"That is true, we need a savior, not a coward who is watching his own father killing children with cold blood" said Zain.

Ash shocked his hand towards Zain's neck, choking him.

"If I ever had a chance to something good for our people, I would of over throwed him the day I was born "yelled Ash.

Suddenly we heard footsteps.

The king came in with Red guards behind him, he looked furious.

"I heard ever single word"

He then pointed to my direction. " You girl, you are not familiar to this providence, and both of you.." he pointed at me and Zain." Are both traitors, you both shall be executed publically for your betrayal.

"Father no!"

He looked at his son.

" As for you son, your price will wait"

He left, dragging me and Zain behind him.
