At the Hodgsons

Chapter Two

5 weeks later

"Are you ready?"

"To be a Hodgson? Always."

Jack smiles and held Nikki's hand, today they decided to get married at city hall. Nikki wanted to get married before their baby girl arrived and planning a whole wedding was so stressful for them in a short amount of time.

"For work i'm using my own surname though, it might be confusing to have two 'Hodgsons' at a crime scene."

"Yeah, you're right about that one." Jack lifted her hand and kissed the back of her hand. "Outside of work i'm calling you Mrs. Hodgson though..."

"Hmm, yes please." Nikki said with a big smile.

"Alexander/Hodgson?" A voice called out.

"Here we go." Jack said while standing up and also helping Nikki to stand upright and walked together to the main room of the city hall.

"To the married couple!" Conor said raising his glass of champagne.

"To the married couple!" Everyone in Jack and Nikki's living said after him.

Nikki and Jack went together to the city hall wanting to do this together but wanted to celebrate it afterwards with their closed ones.

"Thank you all for being here." Nikki said with a big grin on her face.

"Thanks for inviting us all on your special day." Gabriel said taking a sip from his champagne.

Nikki smiled and sat down on the couch letting her feet and herself take some rest from all the standing.

"You okay Nikki? Do you want us to leave?" Clarissa asks seeing the tiredness in Nikki's eyes and body language.

"No, i love the company." Nikki gives Clarissa a reassuring smile.

Jack joined his now wife on the couch and wrapped his arm around her shoulder and pulled her into his side kissing her temple.

"I love you." He whispers.

"Hmm, you better love me." Nikki laughs and squeezed his leg.

Jack chuckles and took a sip from his champagne.

"I love you too by the way."

"Kinda figured that, you married me for god sakes!" Jack said jokingly.

Nikki shook her head laughing at left a kiss on his cheek, she looked around the room smiling, she loved having her closed ones around. Everyone was enjoying their drink and having a conversation, Max, Clarissa and Conor were going to possible baby names while Gabriel tried to follow their conversation. In the far end of the living area she saw Cara and Velvy communicating through sign language, smiling at each other.

"See that?" Nikki said nudging Jack on his side.

Jack followed her gaze and looked at his niece and colleague. "I see Cara and Velvy, what about them?"

Nikki rolled her eyes 'typical boys' she thought. "I think they like each other."

"What? No way."
