'There she is' Dina thought. 'The woman who destroyed my life'

She has seen so many pictures of Sarah Winchester in the newspapers, statements about the incident and news about the whole company so she more or less knew every single detail about her. But she couldn't help wondering if Mrs. Winchester knew who she was as well or if at least her name rang a bell.

Dina slowly approached her and all of a sudden she got a very bad feeling. She had no idea what was going on but it somehow felt as if she was being watched. So she instinctively turned around for a moment to see if there were other people but there was nobody. A shiver ran down her spine as she remembered that she once read that this house was built by the ghosts of people who got shot with Winchester rifles.

This, again, made her think of Joseph and she couldn't help but wonder whether his ghost was near. On one hand this would have meant that they were finally reunited but at the same time she just couldn't believe that actual ghosts even existed.

Mrs. Winchester seemed to be looking Dina up and down and when they finally stood close enough, she just shook her hand and greeted her like she was just being friendly. But Dina did notice that there was something weird about the behavior of the older woman, she just didn't know what it was.

"You must be Ms. Miller." Mrs. Winchester stated to which Dina only nodded. "Let me show you the house first and we can talk about everything else while having dinner."

Without letting Dina answer she turned around and started walking towards the main entrance of the huge mansion. As they walked through the door Dina felt extremely overwhelmed by the hall that they now stood in. The size of the hall made Dina feel small and overwhelmed. Everything was extremely clean, almost shining and you could basically eat right off the floor. There were eight big columns made out of the finest marble that held golden ornaments, four on each side of the main door. The wooden ceiling was adorned with a huge chandelier and expensive paintings and portraits hung on the walls. And the windows were all pastel-colored and asymmetrical which made Dina feel weirdly uncomfortable. But the middle of the room was completely empty; there was not even one single piece of furniture. It seemed to be a room that the residents would show off to the guests to impress them and now Dina got more and more curious about what the rest of the house would look like.

But as soon as the two women walked out of the big hall Dina knew that the rest of the mansion would be completely different and she was right. The house seemed like a labyrinth and Dina was afraid of getting lost. It was really odd. The house seemed more like a maze than like a place where people actually lived and the stairs were always very flat and shallow. Mrs. Winchester claimed that it was because of her physical health and that this type of stairs would be more comfortable for her to walk on.

And then they finally arrived at the room that was going to be Dina's bedroom. It looked cozy and warm with a fireplace right next to the bed. Across from it was a desk with artful carvings at its legs but there was one problem: It was too bright for Dina's liking. She always wanted to stay in darker rooms, she just hated when a place was bright or full of light. Mrs. Winchester has given her some time to unpack and get comfortable so the first thing Dina did was closing the curtains. She couldn't unpack though; it just took her a moment to think about the whole situation and what changes were about to come in her life.

So she just sat on her bed and took a deep breath when suddenly a shiver ran down her spine. She couldn't say what it was but she just felt kind of weird afterwards, like she wasn't alone in the room. But then she tried to convince herself that she was probably overreacting. She claimed the main reason to be the fact that she was in a completely new environment and that she read so much about this house and the ghosts that were said to keep constantly building more and more rooms.
