I was abandoned. I was ignored. I was forgotten. Despite being a piece of land there was even no minimal value of my existence, but sometimes the course of time accompanies care for wounds with the healing power of vividness. It's my story in short. Still didn't recognize me? It's Indraprastha, the land of penance leading towards prosperity.

My star of fortune started to glitter when Pandav brothers stepped on my land along with my first ever "Griha Laxmi", empress Draupadi. They had framed my appearance which is now felicitated at all over Aryavrat, somewhere with joy and, somewhere with jealousy. If I am an eminent kingdom then only due to pandav brothers' effort. I was too proud getting an emperor like Yudhishthir, an empress like Draupadi, and protectors like Bheem, Arjun, Nakul and Sahdev by my sides.

After arrival of Subhadra as a daughter in law of royal family I got a new direction of guidance through her. Her participation for my betterment was really appreciable which had fulfilled all the lacks in me which were hardly recognised by anyone.

I still remember the day when Rajsuya yagya was conducted on my land. Such a historical day that was! I was decorated as the best in terms of beauty and bliss. Many kings had come, and there wasn't a single pair of eyes which didn't roam over me in wonder. I was enjoying special attention towards me.

Eyes not only had admiration towards me, but also had jealousy. The great architecture of demons, Mayasur's fine arts and illusion added up to my existence was the reason of jealousy in those eyes. I didn't consider that jealousy to be bothered on my day when I was claimed as the land to lead Aryavrat.

One day an inauspicious invitation reached at Indraprastha. King Dhritarashtr had invited Yudhishthir to play dice with Duryodhan. The bothering which I avoided on Rajsuya yagya hit back to me in multiple folds as if I were penalised for ignoring that.

Everyone in family suggested Yudhishthir to deny the invitation, but Yudhishthir wasn't ready to welcome any reason of hampering the peace of both Indraprastha and Hastinapur, that too after immediate establishment of peace through Rajsuya yagya. So, he accepted the invitation.

Now I have to bid farewell to my emperor, empress and protectors for their exile. Yudhishthir had lost me to Duryodhan in dice game. I am upset with him for doing so, but then realisation hit me that I am just a piece of land. No matter how much love was poured in my making that couldn't uplift my status from a piece of land, a mere piece of land.

Subjects were shedding tears in silence over departure of their emperor along with his family. The little princes, sons of Draupadi and Subhadra were also going away. I too wished to break down so that I can save myself from the tyranny of Duryodhan, but I didn't have that much privilege too.

That was why I chose to stand without any reaction as if their departure and my drastic future didn't affect me at all.

After all I am a mere piece of land. So, I have to act according to that.
