He got lost in her eyes, walking through endless fields of evergreen, with the hues of the new spring growth, flecks of the earth, and interwoven shades of the chaotic wilderness hiding an untamed beast underneath all the soft elegance.

He could see the violence in her eyes masked by her gentleness, and deep within her glimmering orbs like a fresh sheen of morning dew, he saw something that held a heart of gold.

Her hair was at waist length, a war between the strands stirred over which side would dominate. The more dominant strands, moved like soft waves gliding onto the shore and the recessive ones softly cascading down her back, both equally beautiful and filled with the shades of the scorching flames. The ginger strands were left untied, untouched, and completely virgin, because she probably had more hair than she knew what to do with. So she left it wild and free, just like her soul.

The girl looked and studied him, as he did her.

Hades, was nervous as her eyes scanned him from top to bottom and back up.

Curling her top lip in disdain she glared at him before overlooking the mate bond altogether and continuing her conversation with Elizabeth who took a seat close by.

A lump made it's way up Hades' throat and he swallowed it laboriously as he clenched his jaws waiting to be introduced.

Aries cleared his throat when he noticed Feyrouz's indifference and introduced Hades to the Whitefire pack members who were seated.

"Alpha Fey, Xavier, Ella, and Jackson, this is Lord Hades, son of Cronus, ruler of the underworld, and my uncle." He said, before gesturing for him to sit down.

Jake got up to show respect, "Yes, hello again. Welcome, to our humble home, i'm sorry my sister is being..." he paused to glare at his sibling, "...rude. But being the good mannered big brother I am, I would like to courteously invite you to stay in our manor for however long you need." He finished off.

Hades pressed his lips into a thin line and grimly nodded at Jake, "Thank you." He said simply.

Aries gestured for him to sit while Ariel glared at Feyrouz for ignoring and being so rude to the dark lord, oblivious to the reasons behind her unusual attitude.

Jake pinched her arm and seemed to be swearing at her via mind-link, because she kept gritting her teeth in response, before completely blocking him out and plastering a fake smile on her lips.

"Please, have a seat." She offered coldly, even though Aries already beat her to it but she was being sarcastic and wasn't actually offering, Hades noticed.

Hades dismissed her childish attitude completely and sat at the opposite head of the table with Aries on his left and Eric on his right.

Feyrouz sat on the opposite end of the table, glaring at him from afar, with Ariel, Elizabeth, Ella on her right and Jake, Xavier, and Jackson on her left.

He racked his head on why she might be so hostile against him. She didn't even know him, yet. Was he that bad? Did she expect better?

What he didn't know, is that Fey didn't expect him at all. Nor did she expect him to be the greek god of the underworld, not even a werewolf.

He didn't know that Fey didn't want a mate, that she hated the thought of having one, and she didn't want him to stay any longer because she knew, that the longer he stayed the less she could resist the bond.

She knew that she couldn't control her wolf for too long and that at some point her resolution would wear off, and this was something she wasn't going to allow.

She decided long ago that she was never going to be a mate to anyone.

She doesn't want to show weakness and having a mate required her to be vulnerable, and that was something she promised herself she would never be again.

So, she was going to be a bitch, she was going to make him hate her, she was going to push away any positive feelings and channel all her anger on him.

She was going to be the bitchiest bitch the living and dead would ever encounter and Hades was betting on it. He knew her, inside out, even though she tried her best to pretend not to feel anything at all and mask herself from him.

He was going to push it with her and see how far this takes them. After all, he did love a challenge and if she thought she was cold, then he was a glacier, glacier 3000.

For so long, he struggled and his heart burned and burned, but some point along the way it turned into ice. And apparently, the moon goddess was making a joke out of his love life.

She was probably waiting for this, these past three years, anticipating this moment to laugh her ass off at his face and yell it at him 'SIKE, bitch you thought all you had to do was find her.'

Selene was going to make him work for it alright.

Hades looked Feyrouz dead in the eye as she glared back, before letting a smirk play on his lips as he gave her a wink.

Feyrouz narrowed her eyes at him, before raising a perfect brow.

  Challenge accepted.
