At home, Margarita was drawing pictures from the play in a brand-new sketchbook. She'd drawn herself in her Mirabel costume and the rest of the cast in their own costumes, too. Her parents and sisters came up to see her.
"Did you have a lot of fun tonight, nena?" Jesus asked.
"The time of my life," Margarita smiled.
"I'd say tonight was better than the last two plays I was in," Olga said.
"You said it," Rafa agreed.
"I wonder if the next plays I do will be any better than tonight," Margarita wondered.
"I doubt it," Rafa said. "I'd like to see your future plays top the one you did tonight."
"Me, too," Olga smiled. "Well, with the play out of our way, there's still one more thing to do."
That's right—now that the play was over, the students can finally have their Homecoming dance.
It was a week after the play, and the students arrived at school for Homecoming. Margarita and her sisters arrived at the dance with Victor and Enrique, and the sisters were wearing dresses in the same colors as the outfits of the characters they'd played. Margarita was wearing turquoise blue, Rafa was wearing violet, and Olga was wearing indigo. Isabela didn't wear that color until the end of the movie, but Olga wasn't sure if lavender was her color.
All the students were dancing and having a blast. Olga, Rafa, and Victor watched as their younger siblings danced together happily.
"I'd have to say, this has been a lot of fun," Enrique smiled. "I wonder what movies Disney will do next in the future."
"I wonder what Latin American country a future Disney movie will take place in," Margarita smiled.
"Okay, folks, I hope you're in the mood to waltz because I think tonight you've spent too much time waiting on a miracle!" the DJ whooped.
Everyone in the gym cheered loudly and happily. The song "Waiting on a Miracle" played, and lots of folks danced together to the song. Margarita and Enrique were happy to be doing this together, and they hugged tightly. It was safe to say that they were a couple now, to their older siblings' delight.
Margarita couldn't believe everything that happened recently. Performing in that play was just what she needed to do, and she was happy to do just that. She learned that it was okay to be nervous, but it was a great idea to step out of your comfort zone, especially when it comes to something you truly enjoy. She couldn't wait to see what other plays will be done while she was still in high school.
The End.
